Pinterest Inspired Layout: Fresh Picks

I don’t know about you, but I love Pinterest for getting visual inspiration when I have a creative block. I enjoy spending time browsing and collecting ideas, then when I want to scrapbook but don’t have any ideas in mind, I scroll through my boards and usually a layout will jump out at me and shout “make me”!

I saved this layout several months ago when I was searching for one-page graphic layouts. It’s clean lines, lovely color combination and pretty details caught my eye again as I was planning to scrapbook some floral photos I took on our recent vacation.

The layout was created by Miriam Thomas at CreationsbyMiriam.com.

In the blog post where she shared the layout, Miriam also showed how she created a more masculine version just by switching up the papers.

I’ve taken the liberty of also switching up papers for my own version. I used Creative Memories gorgeous Fresh Picks papers and embellishments to highlight the flowers in my photos. I also added a third photo in place of Miriam’s rectangles of decorative papers, and altered the placement of the embellishments. Here’s my take on this gorgeous layout:

To make my Creative Memories version of this layout, I chose a subdued tone-on-tone Fresh Picks paper for the base of the layout and then trimmed up some leftover scraps from the collection in various patterns for the banner pieces. Being a frugal scrapper, I saved the triangular pieces that I cut away when I made the banners, and re-used them as the pennants in the upper left hand corner. I added a small adhesive gem onto each pennant. The gems were also added to the lovely butterflies which I fussy-cut from the paper with the printed 4 x 6 cards on it. The simple one word title was created with Watercolor Green ABC/123 Stickers placed onto another strip of decorative paper. I also used the lovely new Lace Scallop Border Maker Cartridge to add a pretty detail under the title strip. Finally, I used my Black Dual-Tip Pen to journal and add some small faux stitching details to the paper shapes to help them stand out.

I love how my Pinterest inspired layout turned out! Do you have a Pinterest board where you can save your scrapbooking inspiration? If you do, don’t forget to save all your favorite layouts from Creative Memories to it so you can be inspired over and over again!

Happy saving and scrapping!

  1. FABULOUS layouts, Noreen! Yes, I have a board where I save my pinned layout ideas. My only problem is, I need to go through them once in a while and pick one to get some inspiration! LOL!! Pinterest is definitely addicting.
