Made With Love Mini Album

When I saw the Made with Love Collection, I knew I had to make a mini album!!

Mini albums are the perfect handmade gift to give a friend or family member.

Recipe:

Tools:

Method:

Trim chipboard to 4 3/4 x 7.  You will need two of these, one for the front cover and one for the back cover.

Trim black 12×12 cardstock to 4 1/2 x 9. You will need 5 of these. These will be the pages to your mini album.

Trim black 12×12 cardstock to 4 1/2 x 12. You only need 1. This is the last page of your mini album.

Black cardstock

Score the 4 1/2 x 9 pages on the long side at 6 3/4.

Score the 4 1/2 x 12 page on the long side at 6 3/4. This will create at 5 1/4 flap on the last page.

Scored cardstock

Now we get to cover the chipboard making our front and back cover.

Trim enough of the cranberry 12 x 12 cardstock to cover the chipboard leaving approximately 1/2 inch on all sides.

Protip: Gently fold the cardstock around all edges of cardstock. This “trains” the cardstock and is much easier to adhere down.

See illustration for how I folded in the corner pieces. There are other methods for corner folding but will share on a later post. Once corners are adhered, adhere all four sides down.

Now comes the tricky part. We are going to adhere our pages together. Seems confusing at first but just follow the pattern. Keep in mind, there are plenty of pockets in this mini. Be sure to add adhesive to only three sides of the small 2 1/4 side (making pocket) – will be used to slide in mats, photos or recipes.

Your end result should look like the last picture in the slide show.

Adhere the first page to your front cover and the last page (the one with the flap) to the back cover.

Now comes the fun part!! Pull out your paper pack, your embellishments and your stickers and just start playing!

Last but not least, I made a belly band to secure the pages all together. The belly band measure 1 1/2 inches wide by 12 inches long. I used the Original Border Maker system using the heart chain cartridge.

Protip: Make the belly band loose, so you have plenty of space inside your album to add pictures.

There is no right or wrong way to decorate your creation, just have fun with it! Use your foam squares to give your project dimension.

I hope you find inspiration with my pictures.
