Comfort on the Countryside–The Pumpkin Patch

Hi, everybody! Nicole here, with a layout I created using the Pumpkin Chain Border Maker Cartridge and the Country Comfort collection. I love fall and this collection is perfect for scrapbooking those fall memories!  The bold colors are so pretty and I the vellum paper is gorgeous! If you’re looking for a way to soften up your projects, vellum papers will do the trick!

Edward is at that age now where he thinks he is too big to go to the pumpkin patch… So, I decided to go through some photos from 2014 to scrap. I found a few of my favorite photos from when we visited Papa John’s Farm. He had such a great time searching for the right pumpkin!

Rather than focusing on vellum papers today, I want to share with you a few different ways I use border punches. I like to use my punches sparingly so they do not take up the entire layout. Sometimes, a little goes a long way. Wouldn’t you agree?

To create this 12×12 layout, you will need:

For this layout, I matted a white 11″x11″ patterned paper to the red 12″x12″ patterned paper. Then I printed and matted 3 3″x3″ photos onto 3 4″x4″ journaling mats that I cut down using a 12-inch straight trimmer. I adhered the journaling mats and photos to the page using adhesives to the base of the layout. Then, I cut a 4″x4″ journaling mat in half, diagonally to create two photo corners for the layout. I cut a 3″x3″ piece of the floral vellum and adhered it to the journaling mat that did not have a photo. Once the photos and mats were all placed down, I added the stickers, jewels, and the Everyday Sentiment Laser Cut Embellishments as shown.

I punched a Pumpkin Border Chain from the orange patterned paper from the Countryside Comfort Designer Paper. Using the All-Purpose scissors, I cut two pumpkins from the end, rounding out the edges. Then I used a foam square to pop the pumpkins off the page as shown in the bottom right-side of the layout.

I cut down the border to 3″ in length and adhered it to the bottom of the vellum square. I really like the little touch of pumpkins on this layout. They are just the right size! Not too big, nor small. And best of all, easy to cut into smaller pumpkins to make them work for just about any project.

Thank you for visiting today! I hope I inspired you to use those punches on your projects!

Nicole
