Looking to add a personal touch to any hostess or thank you gifts? Than look no further, you have come to the right place! Plus it’s the perfect way to use up any scraps you have laying around from other projects.
I had the Countryside Comfort Collection, the 2017 Croptoberfest Collection and the Everyday Sentiments Laser Cut Embellishments on my workspace. I specifically used the “Enjoy” sentiment on something I was giving away. Maybe a bag of homemade cookies, or a single muffin or in my case a jar of antipasta.
For these projects you need the following Creative Memories products:
- Countryside Comfort Paper Pack
- Countryside Comfort Vellum Paper
- Everyday Sentiments Laser Cut Embellishments
- 2017 Croptoberfest Collection
- Original Border Maker System
- Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridge
- Custom Cutting System
- Victorian Fence Border Punch
- 4-Way Corner and Hole Punch
- 12″ Straight Trimmer
- Tape Runner
- Foam Squares
To start, I used the Custom Cutting System to measure the top of the canning jar. In order to cover the top of this jar, I needed a 2 1/2 inch circle. Using the red blade and the Custom Cutting System, I cut out the 2 1/2 circle placed it on top of the jar and screwed the canning band back onto the jar. Easy peasy.
Next, I used the Victorian Fence Border Punch and made a border to decorate the jar with. I trimmed the border to fit the jar and adhered the border to the jar using a Tape Runner. Then I used the same patterned paper from the lid and cut out a small border using the Border Maker System and the Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridge. I adhered just a small portion of the border to the fence.
To create a tag for this gift, I cut a 2-inch strip from the Countryside Comfort Vellum Paper and used the 4-Way Corner and Hole Punch. Then I used the Tape Runner and Vellum Adhesive to adhere the “Enjoy” sentiment to the tag. To finish, I used rafia to tie the tag around the canning jar.
And why stop there, you can easily give away a bottle of your favorite wine by making just a quick bottle tag.
For this quick and easy bottle tag, I used paper and cardstock from 2017 Croptoberfest Collection, but you can use any other of our great lines to make one of these depending on what gathering you are attending.
First, I trimmed a piece of cardstock to measure 3″ x 10″ and scored it at 7 inches. Then I used the green blade from the Custom Cutting System and cut out a circle so it could be placed over the bottle neck. I then cut out a 2 1/2 inch circle using the red blade. I then adhered the smaller green circle on top of the white circle. I trimmed a piece of the Croptoberfest Paper to measure 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and adhered it to the front of the cardstock. Lastly, I added a quick sticker with a Foam Squares to the top of the white circle and adhered that piece to the top of the designer paper. Of course, you can add more embellishments as desired. And there you have it, a quick and easy tag for a gift.
I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial on how to dress up your thank you gifts. Think of what you can create when you start looking at all your scraps a little differently.
I really like the bottle tag! Thanks for the great ideas!
Great ideas, especially the bottle tag.
Love your pretty projects! The papers are beautiful! Thanks for the tutorial, so helpful!
I have used the bottle tag in the past at my weekend retreats. I put it over a water bottle. I put each persons name on the tag and then use it to save their cropping table. They can then use it on one of their scrapbook pages.
