Love Moments Today

When I am documenting my memories, I love to capture everyday moments.  A walk in the woods with my son, having coffee with a friend, having a snowball fight with my husband, or watching my sweet newborn nephew sleep.

Don’t let these moments pass you by.  These are the moments that make up our lives.  We couldn’t possibly celebrate BIG holiday’s everyday, but we can make the little moments the BIG ones.

When creating this layout, I wanted the designer papers to frame in the photos, but yet make the photos the focus of the layout.  This layout can be created with any collection of papers and stickers, but I chose to use Countryside Comfort, as it is just that-comfort!

To create this layout, you will need:

Use the dark wood designer paper as the base for this layout.

Cut 7 “L” corners from designer papers, making them 1/2″ wide. Adhere to the layout using the Repositionable Tape Runner Refill in the Tape Runner, leaving approximately 1/8″ in between them.

Cut a piece from the white patterned paper to measure 7″ x 7″.  Adhere to the upper left hand side.

Cut a piece from the gold patterned paper to measure 6-1/2″ x 6-1/2″.  Adhere to the top of the white patterned paper.

Cut two pieces from the green patterned paper to measure 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  Adhere angled to the top of the gold paper.

Cut two pieces from the vellum to measure 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Adhere to the tops of the green paper using Vellum Adhesive.

Adhere two photos that measure 4″ x 3″ to the top of the vellum pieces.

Use the Countryside Comfort Stickers to embellish your layout.  Adhere some of the stickers to the layout using Foam Squares for added dimension.

Now let’s see what we can do with this layout using another collection…

  1. Melissa, what a breath-taking layout! (2, in fact)
I couldn’t figure out how you were doing all those layers, thinking the layout would be so thick and heavy!! But the video made it clear. What a fabulous technique.
I have some photos of my hubby during the spring when the trees were in full bloom. I can work with those photos! Thanks for the inspiration. :-)

  2. Lovely LO with a lot of impact, but simple all the same. My favorite type! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks for the beautiful page idea Melissa! TIP: When I use stickers and foam squares, I usually place 2 foam squares on the back of the sticker, rub the sticker with flour using a makeup sponge (shake excess off), then take the paper off the foam square and adhere to the page. You don’t use as many foam squares and the sticker won’t be sticky anymore.

  4. We can also use the paper ribbons to create this layout and reduce the thickness. Thank you Melissa for helping us to think “outside the box”!!

  5. I love this layout! We just had Fall family pictures taken and this goes perfectly! So beautiful. I will take a picture and post it. I made my pictures a little bigger and it works. Thanks Melissa.
