I Love Christmas!

Poinsettia-Punch-Scrapbooking-Layout-Creative-Memories

I love everything about the Christmas season; my family traditions, making new traditions with friends, red and green decorations, blue and silver decorations…you name it and if it’s Christmas, I’m in. One thing that is tradition in my area (maybe everywhere else too?) is living/singing Christmas trees. Choral groups in Christmas tree formation with beautiful poinsettias in front of them. It so happens I just received my poinsettia punch! So inspired by the singing poinsettia Christmas tree, I tried to recreate that on my layout! Here’s to traditions old and new….no matter how you celebrate with your family and friends…take pictures and preserve those memories!

To make this holiday scrapbook layout you will need:

I used 1 sheet of evergreen cardstock and 1 sheet of navy cardstock as the bases for this layout. Using the 12″ straight trimmer cut 4 – 1″ strips from one sheet of designer paper from the Sugarplum Collection. Cut 2 strips from each cardstock color using the decorative trimmer and adhere to the 1″ strip, then adhere both to the base layer.

Here comes the fun part…start punching poinsettias out of 3 Sugarplum designer papers and white cardstock. You’ll need plenty of these. Start arranging them onto your base layer (the repositionable tape worked great for this) in the shape of a Christmas tree.

Using the 12″ Straight Trimmer cut 4 – 4″ x 4″ squares from the designer paper used from punching the poinsettias. Also cut 2 – 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 rectangles and adhere to base layers. Add some embellishments and a little bling to your trees and….voila!

  2. agree with comment by Chris – I too now HAVE to buy the poinsettia punch – and already have the holly punch and love it!!

  3. Love the trees! Will use this idea on a layout. I just received the poinsettia punch in the mail last week and have been playing around with it! : )

  4. Thee trees are adorable! I think we’re going to use them for my Chick-Fil-A Christmas family night! And maybe for Sunday School too??
