Archiver’s™ Happy 80th Birthday Mini Album

Archiver's™-Happy-80th-Birthday-Mini-Album

Hi everyone! My family and I just celebrated my grandmother’s 80th birthday and since she loves mini albums, I decided to make one for her. The party was somewhat a surprise. We just told her we were going to celebrate her birthday at my sister’s, but she had no idea that there would be family members traveling from New York, Kentucky and Virginia to celebrate her big day! She was truly touched that so many people cared about her. She made us all cry when she walked through the front door and I am sad that I did not get the photo!

The newest Archiver’s collection is perfect for the mini 2×3 Pocket Album! I love the patterns, color palette and laser die cuts in this gorgeous collection. Ah, it’s so pretty! I just love the rose patterned paper!

To complete this mini book, you will need:

To begin, I cut 10 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles from a variety of sheets from the Archiver’s™ Mat Pack using the Personal Trimmer. I love this tool. It is my favorite! Then I printed 7 2″ x 2″ photos.

Once this has been completed, I started prepping the tiny pages using the Archiver’s™ Laser Cut Embellishments. I used my All-Purpose Scissors to cut a few of the shapes down so I could stretch them. Then I added a few photos to a few of the pages. Notice how I used my scraps to mat a few of the photos. I cut the rose  from one of the patterned mats to create a die cut for one of the pages, then I adhered it to the page using Foam Squares. The diamond was cut from another mat to help add dimension to the butterfly.

Here is what the pages look like inside the 2×3 Pocket Album. I think it looks simple, but elegant.

For the first page of the album, I cut the sentiment from a mat to make the album more inviting. I just love this quote/sentiment.

What do you think? This little mini took me hardly an hour to complete once I had the pages cut and photos printed and cropped. I hope my grandmother loves it as much as I do.

Thank you for visiting today!

  1. I love it! So pretty! This might be a silly question — how did you get photos of that size? Are these just trimmed down 4×6’s? Or did you purposely print tiny prints, and where?

    1. Hi! Not silly at all. I use a photo program to create a photo collage to make the photos smaller. Then I cut them print them on a 4×6 sheet and cut them out.

  2. This is great… You could also slide their gift cards, if applicable, opposite their picture so the recipient can recall who gave it to them.

  3. Loved this. What a great way to remember her 80th.
Plus easy for her to carry around to show people. Great pictures, loved the cake. Beautiful paper collection. Now “I need it”
****Someone asked about small pictures. Most photo printing places can do that size, or as said here get a collage made and cut. I use Walgreens I know they do it.
