MUST-TRY Scrapbook Border Designs

Have you ever looked at one of your scrapbook layouts and thought to yourself that it needed a little… something to liven it up or make it complete? Borders are a great way to do that – and these scrapbook border designs may be just what you’ve been waiting for!

To make these scrapbooking borders you’ll need:

NOTE: I won’t tell you which papers to use here; I’ll leave it to you to find your own favorites. I know you will love the unique looks you come up with!

Cut a 2″ x 12″ strip of paper for the base. Punch a border with the Teardrop Lattice Border Punch and adhere down the middle with Repositionable Adhesive.

Choose six different papers (I picked lots of textures in shades of white and grey) and cut a 1/2″ x 12″ strip from each. Adhere them side by side on a 3″ x 12″ strip of Cardstock.

Line up one of the long edges along the 45-degree angle of the 12-inch Straight Trimmer and cut off a corner of the strip. Set this piece aside. Insert the strip again, with the angled side you just cut lined up at the 45-degree mark and the 2-inch mark. Cut, giving you an angled piece that measures 2″ wide. Adhere this piece toward the bottom of the border as shown.

Below I’ve used the same border “recipe” but mixed in some papers from different collections along with the Timber, Stone and Cloth papers. The angled strips of this border recipe lend a graphic element to a page. Perfect for those pages where you might not have a “theme” but just want to add a punch. Use the triangle piece as a decorative element elsewhere on your page.

Gallivant Collection

I love how the Stone and Timber textures work with a travel theme and so I combined them with the Gallivant Collection. I subbed in a strip of highway and added a strip of cars paper. To the triangle element, I added the “Road Trippin'” sticker with Foam Squares.

Archiver’s™ Collection

Finally, the textures and colors blend with the Archiver’s™ Collection for endless possibilities! I applied a laser-cut border down the middle of the floral strip and mixed in some dots and stripes with the wood and fabric papers. A laser-cut butterfly adds just the right touch to the triangle piece.

I don’t think there is a collection that doesn’t pair well with these papers. Comment below and tell us which collections you’ve used or are going to use with the Textile Paper Packs!
