In our little slice of suburbia, we’ve created our very own tiny farm. We grow vegetables, have a compost for all our food waste, and last year we got some new pets — chickens! Imagine my delight when I saw the Little Lamb Baby Boy Paper designs featuring the cutest-ever farm patterns. I knew right away I’d be using Little Lamb alongside my photos of our micro-farm. Read on to find out how I created this layout featuring multiple “layers” (get it?! The papers and the chickens who lay eggs?!)
What You’ll Need To Create This Layout:
- Little Lamb Baby Boy Paper Pack
- Little Lamb Baby Boy Stickers
- Black & White Paper Pack
- Black & White Stickers
- 4-Way Hearts and Stars Corner and Hole Punch
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- All-Purpose Scissors
- Tape Runner
- Foam Squares
- Orange Dual-Tip Pen from the Pens & Pouch
For this scrapbook layout, I was keen on creating a layered look with minimal paper. I chose 2 Little Lamb Baby Boy papers, including the farmyard icons and a striped sheet from the Black & White Paper Pack. I made sure the reverse side of each paper coordinated as well, so I could use the leftovers and flip them over. You’ll see I trimmed the center out of the background paper so I could utilize that piece in this layout and others. (Waste-not-want-not, as they say!)
Create extra interest on any page by adding angles! On this layout, I added my photos at angles in opposite directions. To trim my farm icons paper, I laid it over my striped paper at the angle I wanted and made small pencil marks at the top and at the bottom of the farm icon paper where it overlapped the edge of the striped paper. I could then use these pencil marks to line up the paper in my Trimmer to cut the top and bottom of the paper.
Using some scraps for extra decorations can help to add the finishing touches to any layout. Here I used the 4-Way Hearts and Stars Corner and Hole Punch and scissors to create little flags. (Hint: If you want to get a symmetrical point, fold the end of the paper strip in half and snip the end with scissors at an angle.)
Method:
Crop a 9-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ square from the center of the background paper (set the scrap piece aside). Trim the striped paper to a 10-1/2″ x 10-1/2″ square. Adhere the striped paper on the background paper.
Trim a strip of farm icons paper to measure 4 1/4″ x 12″. Place it across your layout at the desired angle, make small pencil marks at the top and at the bottom of the farm icon paper where it overlaps the edge of the striped paper. Use these pencil marks to line up the cut in your Trimmer. Adhere to the layout as shown.
Trim a photo at 4″ x 4″ to adhere to the farm icon paper as shown. Then, using the center section of the background paper, flip it over and crop a 6-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ mat, place a 6″ x 3″ photo on this mat and adhere to the layout.
Using a scrap piece of the striped paper, flip it over and trim three 3/4″ x 2-1/2″ strips. Punch a heart shape in one end with the 4-Way Hearts and Stars Corner and Hole Punch, cut the other end into a point with scissors (at various lengths). Adhere these to the top right of the layout as shown. Add 2 flag stickers to this cluster from the Little Lamb Baby Boy stickers with Foam Squares. Add the finishing touches to the layout with additional stickers and journaling.

Cute! We can’t wait to see that layout :)
Very cute and I see some “wiggle room” if I wanted to add more than 2 photos!
