Create a Science Fiction Scrapbook Layout Using Fanatic

At first glance, the Fanatic collection may look like it’s meant to be used exclusively for sports-related projects. It’s easy to make that assumption when you see all of the sports-related stickers and embellishments in the collection. However, thanks to the variety of papers, you can really use this collection for so much more. You can use it to create an outdoor scrapbook layout, a layout for family vacation or summer celebration, or as seen in the photo, a trip to a galaxy far, far away! Check out how blog contributor Sachiyo used it to create this layout with special help from the Sunshine Border Maker Cartridge.

Blog Contributor Sachiyo’s Inspiration:

When I first saw the Sunshine Border Maker Cartridge, I thought it seemed somewhat familiar to me. Looking at my collection of Creative Memories punches, the Starburst punch jumped out at me. Here you go! It fits perfectly with the new Sunshine Border Maker Cartridge!

To create this layout, you will need:

instructions
Step 1: Use a piece of the blue patterned paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Punch a border using the Sunshine Border Maker Cartridge and a piece of white patterned paper. Trim to measure 12″ x 1-1/8″ and use this as the base of the border.

Step 3: Punch a piece of Navy Cardstock using the Starburst Punch for seven bursts. Adhere six of the center pieces of the Starburst to the back of the base as shown above, leaving the two middle suns open. Adhere the Starburst piece to the layout.

Step 4: To create the medallion, punch a border using the Double Chevron Border Maker Cartridge and white patterned paper. Trim to measure 12″ x 1″. Using scissors, cut the excess on the points on the zigzag side.

Step 5: Adhere the first peak of the double chevron border to the starburst, tuck in the second peak and adhere the third peak to the starburst shape as shown. Continue until the double chevron border surrounds the starburst.

Step 6: Adhere another starburst to the middle of the medallion. Finally, add a center piece of a starburst to the middle using Foam Squares.

Step 7: Adhere four starbursts shapes to the suns without the starburst centers.

Step 8: Cut three pieces of Cranberry Cardstock to measure 4″ x 6″, and one piece to measure 4″ x 4″. Trim three photos to measure 3-7/8″ x 5-7/8″ and one photo to measure 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″. Adhere the photos to the photo mats and then to the layout as shown.

Step 9: Finish the layout by adhering layered embellishments and enamel stickers.
