Make Great Fall Scrapbook Borders with Border Maker Cartridges & Punches

Do you have a layout that just doesn’t seem tied together yet? Try adding a border! Borders are a great way to drive home the theme of the layout and make everything look like it’s all on the same page (pun intended). If you’re creating autumn layouts and want to see how to make fall scrapbook borders, you’re in luck! The Garland and Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridges and On the Vine Border Punch will help you create fall scrapbook borders you can be proud of. Read on to learn how to make three borders with them!

To create the first two borders, you will need:

Pumpkin Spice, Everything Nice Scrapbook Border

  • Cut a 12″ x 3″ strip of striped patterned paper for the base. Cut a 12″ x 2-1/2″ strip of green ivy patterned paper and adhere to the base.
  • Using the Garland Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with brown plaid patterned paper. Trim to measure 12″ x 1-3/4″. Add to the border, just below the green edge. Place the ivy border sticker along the bottom edge of the brown strip.
  • Using the Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridge, punch two borders with the orange patterned paper. Place the light orange piece just above the ivy sticker and place the bright orange piece centered between the two as shown.
  • Cut a 4″ x 1″ piece of orange patterned paper and a 4″ x 1″ piece of brown plaid patterned paper. Notch one end of each to create flags. Top with “Pumpkin Spice” and “Everything Nice” stickers. Add to the border, along with pumpkin and sprig stickers, using Foam Squares.

Sunflower Scrapbook Border

  • Cut a 12″ x 3-1/2″ strip of Goldenrod Cardstock for the base. Cut a 12″ x 3-1/4″ strip of the striped patterned paper and adhere to the base. Cut a 12″ x 2-7/8″ strip of brown plaid patterned paper and adhere to the striped piece.
  • Using the Garland Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with the green ivy patterned paper. Trim to 12″ x 2-1/8″ and punch the other side. Adhere to the top edge of the brown plaid piece. Add an ivy border sticker along the edge as shown.
  • Using the Embossed Trio Flower Punch, punch five flowers from Goldenrod Cardstock. Then, punch five circles from Black Cardstock. Apply the black circles to the centers of the flowers. Mount to the garland “centers” with Foam Squares.

Beautiful Life Scrapbook Border

  • Cut a 12″ x 3″ strip of Gather Together black dot patterned paper for the base. Cut a  12″ x 1-1/2″ strip of Pumpkin Spice floral patterned paper and a 12″ x 1″ strip of Gather Together yellow patterned paper. Adhere these strips to the base as shown.
  • Using the On the Vine Border Punch, punch a border with a piece of Pumpkin Spice brown patterned paper and again with a piece of Pumpkin Spice green patterned paper. Overlap and offset slightly the green ivy over the brown. Apply Repositionable Adhesive to these pieces and adhere on top of the yellow strip.
  • Cut a 12″ x 5/8″ strip of Gather Together orange patterned paper. Top with a “Thankful for this beautiful life” Gather Together border sticker and adhere to the border just above the tops of the vines.
  • Add Gather Together flower stickers with Foam Squares.
