Everyone spends the holidays doing something different. Some people head to their grandparent’s house, others spend the day volunteering, and some people, like blog contributor Beth, like to switch it up and do something a little bit different, such as take a family cruise. Beth knew that this experience would be full of fun and unique memories and that she wanted to use the Digital Season’s Greetings Kit to preserve these memories. The kit allowed her to create a beautiful digital Christmas scrapbook layout that her family will enjoy for years to come. Find out how Beth did it!
Beth’s Inspiration:
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year and last year did not disappoint! We celebrated Christmas in a very different way for our family, twelve of us went on a family cruise on Christmas Eve. It was strange not fully decorating the house, baking our family favorites, shopping and wrapping gifts. We skipped all that and went south!
On Christmas morning we all had breakfast together and then off to visit with Santa. Even Nanny got her photo with Santa. It truly was a blessing for all of the cousins to be together with their grandparents on Christmas morning! Even though it wasn’t a traditional Christmas, being together is what is most important. The Season’s Greetings Digital Kit worked wonderfully with my non-traditional Christmas photos.
The gemstones in the kit made for a beautiful border that I evenly spaced and layered over a ribbon border element. I think the gemstones are my favorite element in this kit!
I made a border of ribbons from the berry flag shaped ribbon by copying and pasting a few and filled them with the papers and photo mats from the kit. After they were filled, I resized and placed them randomly spaced under the photos and mats.
The Santa embellishment was a must on this page and I clustered him with bells and holly embellishments. Adding shadows gives it the dimensional effect.
So we wouldn’t forget what year we celebrated Christmas on the sea, I made a tag for the date. I used two tags and resized them to use the red one as a mat under the green tag. I added the date and two gemstones to anchor it in place (pardon the pun). This certainly is a Christmas to remember and I am so glad I have the photos that captured the wonderful memories!

My hubby and I are about a 1000 miles away from any other family members, so our tradition is to open our presents as soon as we get up (which is late a.m.), have sandwiches, chips, and veggies for lunch, then nibble the rest of the afternoon while watching Christmas movies.
Great layout! I haven’t digi scrapped in a while. I think I’d better look into this collection :-)
Love seeing digital ideas here! Great page, beautiful content.
Thank you Lea!
