It’s funny — have you ever noticed that despite all the hard work that artists and archaeologists do, sometimes the natural beauty that Mother Nature provides is the most breathtaking of it all? This phenomenon was the main focus that went into designing the Textures collection; specifically, the Sky & Water Paper Pack. These papers were designed with a barrage of blues that remind us that the best visuals in the world aren’t found on a screen or on a canvas. Check out this water and sky-themed scrapbook layout that perfectly captures the natural beauty found on planet Earth!

Step 1: Use the light aqua water patterned paper as the base for this layout.
Step 2: Cut a 3″ x 12″ strip of sky blue patterned paper and adhere to the top of the layout.
Step 3: Punch a border using the Scallop Burst Border Punch with Goldenrod Cardstock and trim to measure 1-5/8″ wide.
Step 4: Punch a border using the Scallop Border Punch with the dark aqua water patterned paper and trim to measure 2-1/4″ wide. Using the Sunshine Border Maker Cartridge, punch the other side of this border piece. Mount on top of the previous goldenrod border so that the gold fills up the suns. Adhere to the layout so that the scallop bursts are 1-1/4″ down from the top edge.
Step 5: Punch a border using the Scallop Border Punch with the bright turquoise water patterned paper and trim to measure 6″ wide. Adhere to the layout so that the straight edge fits just below the dark aqua scallops.
Step 6: Using the outside of the largest Circle Pattern and the Blue Blade, cut a circle with Goldenrod Cardstock. Slip underneath the bright turquoise water scallops so just the bottom half shows near the bottom left of the layout as shown. Add a title with ABC/123 stickers and some aqua “splashes” punched from the Dewdrop Flower Punch.
Step 7: Mat one 6″ x 4″ and one 4″ x 4″ photo with 6-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ pieces of Goldenrod Cardstock. Mount on the layout in the middle of the bright turquoise water paper. Journal as desired.
There are so many different ways to create with not only the Sky and Water Paper Pack, but with the Textures collection in general. This sky- and water-themed scrapbook layout is just one example of the things you can do with this collection.
