Step 1: Use the gingham patterned paper as your base.
Step 2: Trim 1-1/8″ from one side of a sheet of Black Cardstock. Using Repositionable Adhesive, attach a 1-1/2″ x 12″ piece of scrap paper so that it extends 13/16″ beyond the edge of a 12″ side of the cardstock. Punch a border using the Lace Trim Border Punch and remove the scrap piece, leaving a hole-punched edge (but without the lace trim). Repeat this process on the other 12″ side. Trim 1-1/8″ off the long sides and mount this in the middle of the base.
Step 3: Crop one photo to measure 3-3/4″ x 4″ and another photo to measure 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″. Mat the first photo with a 4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Red Cardstock and the other photo with a 4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Aqua Cardstock. Adhere them along the left side of the Black Cardstock as shown.
Step 4: Punch a piece of green patterned paper with the Lace Trim Border Punch. Trim it to measure 1-1/2″ x 12″ and cut the piece to make two 6″ strips. Adhere one strip just underneath a 6″ x 4″ photo and mount it on the lower right side of the layout.
Step 5: Using the Lace Trim Border Punch, punch one border each with Red and Aqua Cardstock. Trim both borders to measure 6″ x 4″. Mount a 6″ x 2-3/4″ photo to the red piece so the lace trim is below the photo. Flip the red piece up so the lace trim is on top and adhere a 5″ x 3-1/4″ piece of white dot patterned paper to it. Mount a 6″ x 3-1/4″ photo to the aqua piece so the lace trim is above the photo. Flip the aqua piece up and adhere a 5″ x 3-1/4″ piece of white dot patterned paper to it.
Step 6: Laying both pieces with the white dot side up and add journal lines. Journal as desired and add stickers to decorate.
Step 7: Add rainbow dot border sticker pieces (cut to 6″ long) to the green, red and aqua lace trim pieces as shown. Add the remaining stickers and embellishments as shown to the top right side of the layout, popping some up with Foam Squares.
Step 8: Mount the layout on a scrapbook refill page and slide a page protector over it.
Step 9: Place the aqua piece in a Peekaboo Pocket™ (journal side up) and mount it on top, just above the photo on the lower right so only the green lace trim is showing. Place the red piece in a Peekaboo Pocket™ (photo side up) and mount it on top, just above the aqua piece so only the aqua lace trim is showing. Place two 6″ x 4″ photos in a Peekaboo Pocket™ and mount it on top, just above the red piece so only the red lace trim is showing.
With Peekaboo Pockets™, you can fit all sorts of extra photos and memories into this summer scrapbook layout. What other memorabilia will you fill the pockets with? Comment below and let us know what you think of this layout, too!
