Store and Show Your Tiny Treasures with this Vintage Scrapbook Layout

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but what if you need more than that to tell the whole story? While scrapbooking may seem limited to a two-dimensional plane, your creativity jumps off the page in new ways with Memorabilia Pockets! You get to share every bit of every chapter as these transparent pockets allow you to store and display small notes, special messages, coins, pet tags, stamps, medals, military tags, badges and more in your scrapbook layouts. Take a look at how Memorabilia Pockets are used to add authenticity to this vintage scrapbook layout below!

To create this layout, you will need:

Check out Memorabilia Pockets in the video below!

Step 1: Use Bronze Shimmer Cardstock as the base for the layout.

Step 2: Cut a piece of black dot patterned paper to measure 11″ x 11″.

Step 3: Tear and layer several pieces of paper along the upper left side of the black dot patterned paper. Trim away any excess with the 12-inch Trimmer. Adhere this piece to the layout.

Step 4: Using the Original Border Maker System, punch a border using the Gears Chain Border Maker Cartridge from Bronze Shimmer Cardstock. Adhere the border to the top portion of the layout, trimming the excess using All-Purpose Scissors.

Step 5: Cut a piece from the Bronze Shimmer Cardstock to measure 5″ x 7″. Cut a piece from the tan herringbone patterned paper to measure 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhere it on top of the Bronze Shimmer Cardstock piece to create a photo mat. Adhere a photo to this mat and add it to the layout as shown.

Step 6: Cut a piece from the lined patterned paper to measure 9-1/2″ x 1-1/2″. Cut a “v” into the end of this piece with All-Purpose Scissors and adhere it to the layout.

Step 7: Cut a piece from the soft silver distressed patterned paper to measure 8″ x 1-1/2″. Cut a “v” into the end of this piece with All-Purpose Scissors and adhere it to the layout.

Step 8: Adhere ABC/123 Stickers to the lined paper to create the title of the layout.

Step 9: Cut a piece of soft silver distressed patterned paper to measure 4-1/4” x 4”. Adhere it to the layout and add a large Memorabilia Pocket to the top of the paper. Adhere a small Memorabilia Pocket to the top of the large pocket as shown. Place memorabilia into the pockets.

Step 10: Cut a piece of soft silver distressed patterned paper to measure 4-1/4″ x 2-1/8″. Adhere it to the layout and add a medium Memorabilia Pocket to the top of the paper. Place memorabilia into the pocket.

Step 11: Adhere stickers, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension. Journal as desired.

  1. This is a wonderful product. Will be great for adding memorabilia!!! Can’t wait to try them.

  2. I always caution, to take care of where you place coins, buttons, awards – anything “hard” like that. Try not to place them where a precious picture is opposite of the hard item. One of my customers was sharing the only picture she had of her great grandmother – she had placed a large coin on the facing page – that big coin was rubbing her grandmother, leaving a dent and even damaging her photo. And, yes, she had page protectors on both pages — however, it was not a CM album, but it doesn’t hurt to be aware of something like that happening. :) And the special envelopes will surely help protect as well. I just watch the placement.

  3. I have used these for my late father-in-laws ribbons he earned in WWII but I did place any metal in the album just used the ribbons
