Feel the Yuletide Cheer with these Christmas Scrapbook Borders and Card

With a name like Petal Frame Punch, it may seem like you can only use this tool on projects filled with flowers like weddings and time spent in the garden or for spring and summer spreads. However, all crafters know that with a little bit of ingenuity, you can make a tool work with any theme! Take a look at how you can use this pretty punch in unexpected ways, like for Christmas scrapbook borders and a DIY holiday card!

Joy to the World Border

Step 1: Cut a 3″ x 12″ strip of dark green plaid patterned paper. Using the Petal Frame Punch, punch two corners and one long side. Do the same with a 3″ x 12″ strip of Leaf Green Cardstock. Layer the leaf green piece over the dark green plaid patterned piece.

Step 2: Cut a 2-1/8″ x 10″ strip of red plaid patterned paper. Round two corners with the 2-Way Corner Rounder and adhere it to the green petal-punched pieces, as shown. Cut a 1-3/4″ x 9-1/2″ strip of berry patterned paper. Round two corners and adhere it to the red plaid patterned piece.

Step 3: Using the inside of the medium Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a circle with Red Cardstock. Mount the “Joy to the World” sticker to it with Foam Squares and place it in the middle of the border. Add holly stickers, as shown.

Poinsettia Border

Step 1: Cut a 3″ x 12″ strip of Crimson Cardstock. Using the Petal Frame Punch, punch along one long edge to make the base. Cut a 2-3/4″ x 12″ strip of red stripe patterned paper and punch along one long edge. Adhere it to the base.

Step 2: Cut a 2″ x 12″ strip of green patterned paper and punch along one long edge. With All-Purpose Scissors, trim off the petals, as shown. Adhere it to the red stripe patterned piece.

Step 3: Cut a 1″ x 12″ strip of black berry patterned paper. Adhere it to the bottom edge of the green patterned piece. Top it with a scroll border sticker.

Step 4: Add poinsettia and “Merry Everything” stickers with Foam Squares.

Merry Christmas Card

Step 1: Use a card from the Blank Card Kit as the base (or cut a piece of White Cardstock to measure 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and fold it in half).

Step 2: Cut a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of green plaid patterned paper and mount it on the front of the card. Cut a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of white print patterned paper and adhere it on top.

Step 3: Cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/2″ strip of black plaid patterned paper and adhere it across the middle of the card. Add a 5-1/2″ piece of the striped border sticker on top.

Step 4: Cut one square each measuring 4″ x 4″ from the Red, Crimson, Dark Green and Leaf Green Cardstocks. Using the Petal Frame Punch, punch around each square. Using All-Purpose Scissors, cut off the smaller petals, leaving just the large middle one on each side of all four squares. Overlap and arrange the pieces to form a flower and adhere it to the middle of the card.

Step 5: Using the inside of the medium Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a circle with black plaid patterned paper and adhere it to the middle of the flower. Top it with a snowflake laser cut embellishment and the “Merry Christmas” and holly stickers.
