A Wicked Cute Fall Scrapbook Layout and Treat Bags!

There is so much fun to be had with the Wicked Cute collection! And while it’s perfect for boo-tiful Halloween layouts, with a little imagination, it can be used for other seasonal projects, too! Kelly from Creative Memories® Australia recently used the Wicked Cute collection for a festive fall scrapbook layout and then let the Halloween spirit move her into creating some candy bag toppers! Check them out!

Kelly’s Inspiration

I remember days at my grandma’s house, where cookies were always baking and the kitchen was the heart of her home. Some of my sweetest memories with my grandma were taste-testing freshly baked cookies and celebrating these photos on a quick and easy layout help to take me right back there… I can almost smell those cookies now!

These easy creations are perfect for beginner paper-crafters and prove that Wicked Cute is for more than just Halloween pictures.

To create this layout, you will need:

instructions

Step 1: Use the plaid patterned paper for your base.

Step 2: Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut three sections of the star patterned paper to measure 7-3/8″ x 3-3/4″, 6-5/8″ x 3-3/4″ and 7-3/8″ x 3-3/4″. Adhere them vertically to the left side of the base, evenly spaced as shown.

Step 3: Adhere three photos measuring 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ to the star sections. (TIP: Use the 2-Way Corner Rounder to round the corners, if you wish. On the example above, I used smaller, vintage photos with corners that were already rounded.)

Step 4: Trim two stripes of Goldenrod Cardstock to measure 1/2″ x 12″ and one strip to measure 2″ x 12″. Trim three strips of the star patterned paper and two strips of the graph patterned paper to measure 3/4″ x 2-1/2″. Adhere them diagonally across the wider strip of Goldenrod Cardstock. Snip off any paper hanging over the edges of the cardstock with All-Purpose Scissors. Adhere the strips of cardstock to the layout, as shown.

Step 4: Select some Wicked Cute stickers to add to your layout, using Foam Squares on some for fun dimension and journal as desired.

Kelly’s Inspiration

Despite living in Australia where Halloween is not a local tradition, its popularity is growing in some areas and we get some trick-or-treaters knocking each year in our family-filled neighborhood. These quick-to-create treat bags will make it super easy to hand out the candy this year.

Step 1: Place your candy into cellophane or plastic bags. Trim any piece of Wicked Cute paper to the same width as the bags (the examples above are 4-1/4″ x 4-1/2″). Fold the paper over so it’s 2-1/4″ high and use a Tape Runner to adhere it to the top of the bag.

Step 2: Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut a contrasting strip of Wicked Cute paper to measure 3/4″ high and trim it to the width of your bag. Adhere this strip to the folded paper, 1/4″ from the bottom.

Step 3: Choose two Wicked Cute stickers to decorate the topper, as shown. Repeat the steps to make more treat bag toppers!

The Wicked Cute collection doesn’t have to be used exclusively for Halloween scrapbook layouts – with a little bit of ingenuity (and the right incantation), you can turn it into so much more! Which one of these projects will you be trying? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. LOVE this layout, Kelly and how you showcased Wicked Cute being used in a non-Halloween way! Absolutely beautiful and the bags are super cute too.

  2. Fun
