Enjoy Starry Nights With This Camping Scrapbook Layout and S’mores Scrapbook Border

Who doesn’t love a good camping trip? Well, for those of you who adore the great outdoors and the special (and fun!) moments you experience, then the S’more Memories collection is for you! Blog contributor Sachiyo was inspired by the S’more Memories collection, so she created her own camping scrapbook layout and s’more scrapbook border idea using the collection — check them out!

Sachiyo’s Inspiration — Camping Scrapbook Layout

I used to go camping every summer when I was in Japan. During the daytime, we enjoyed canoeing, fishing and exploring the great outdoors, and at night, we gathered around the bonfire and looked up at the starry sky. The S’more Memories Paper Pack is perfect for all those memories of outdoor adventure.

Layout by Sachiyo Omitsu – CM Independent Advisor

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use the starry nights patterned paper as the base.

Step 2: Cut an oval using the outside of the smallest Custom Cutting System Oval Pattern with the Red Blade from the green patterned paper. Using the Clouds Border Maker Cartridge, punch the outside of the oval to make a tree. Cut out a trunk of the tree from Rich Brown Cardstock with the All-Purpose Scissors.

Step 3: Cut the yellow patterned paper to measure 2″ x 12″. Cut one end of the strip at 45 degrees with the 12-inch Trimmer. Move the trimmer over, and cut the strip again at 45 degrees so all edges of the diamond shape measure 2″ as shown. After cutting a diamond shape, you will have one triangle and one diamond. Take the remaining strip with the 45 degree angle and cut one more triangle from the strip.

Step 4: Tear a piece of the green patterned paper using the Double Wave Tearing Tool to measure 1″ x 12″. Adhere it to the bottom of the base.

Step 5: Using the Campfire Punch, punch a piece from Rich Brown Cardstock and Scarlet Cardstock. Adhere a red log under a brown log to add dimension.

Step 6: Adhere the tent, tree and campfire as shown. Use Foam Squares on some for added dimension. Fold the triangles to make the tent entrance and draw dotted lines on the tent.

Sachiyo’s Inspiration — S’more Scrapbook Border

There’s nothing quite like your first s’more. I remember when my son had a s’more for the first time — he stared at me and tried to tell me how much he loved it, but decided not to waste his time and kept eating. Craving a s’more now? Check out this s’more scrapbook border to manage your marshmallow cravings!

Border by Sachiyo Omitsu – CM Independent Advisor

To create this border you will need:

Step 1: Cut a piece of White Cardstock to measure 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ for a marshmallow and one piece of Rich Brown Cardstock that measures 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ for the chocolate.

Step 2: Using the Clouds Border Maker Cartridge, punch all the midway points of the square. Set aside the square frame of Rich Brown Cardstock for later use.

Step 3: Diagonally cut the cloud square in half using the All-Purpose Scissors. Punch the corner aligning the curved shape as shown.

Step 4: Cut out two pieces of crackers from the Graham cracker patterned paper with the All-Purpose Scissors.

Step 5: Assemble a s’more, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

Step 6: Cut a piece from the red gingham check patterned paper to measure 3″ x 3″. Adhere it in the back of Rich Brown frame. Add the s’more to the center.

Step 7: Cut the Graham crackers patterned paper to measure 2-1/4’ x 12’, use this for the base. Cut the black patterned paper to measure 2” x 12”, and the matchsticks patterned paper to measure 1-1/2” x 12”. Adhere them onto the base.

Step 8: Add stickers and the assembled s’more square, and use Foam Square on some for added dimension.
