Ahh, the humble apple. This delicious fruit tastes especially crisp during fall, and whether you cut it up and bake it in some sweet goodies, drink it in a cider or just chomp a big ol’ bite out of it, it’s a treat that’s tough to beat. Blog contributor Sachiyo Omitsu was in the apple mood, so she created a gorgeous apple scrapbook layout using the Apple Recipe Template — check it out!

Sachiyo’s Inspiration

We find apples all year round, but apples harvested in autumn taste especially delicious. There is nothing like the aroma of fresh apple pies. The smell from the oven baking those apple pies really gets my tastebuds tingling! Are you a baker? Do you have an admired apple pie recipe?

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use the speckled acorn patterned paper as the base. Cut the navy weathered paper to measure 11-3/4″ x 11-3/4″ and adhere it to the middle.

Step 2: Place the Apple Recipe Template as shown and trace the outside of an apple using a pencil on White Solid Cardstock. Trace the outside of a leaf and stem as a separate piece. Cut out the apple, leaf and stem. Use these cutouts as the base to adhere paper strips in the next step.

Step 3: Cut 1″ strips from various patterned papers. Adhere the strips to the base. Trim excessive strips along the cutout using the All-Purpose Scissors. Adhere the apple and stem to the base. Add the leaf using Foam Squares.

Step 4: Add the Hello, Autumn Stickers, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

  1. I like the “non-traditional colors” for the apple to put it into the fall theme. Overall I would like to give it a try. Cj

  2. So creative and color-filled; great way to use those coordinating papers. Great idea. Thanks. Virginia, USA

  3. What do I like most??? EVERYTHING!!! The colors, the use of scraps but especially the outside-the-box use of the template!

  4. Thank you for this! Now I have another issue:

A couple of years ago I bought the “A Year To Remember” package with 1 package of stickers and 1 package of embellishments. I’ve finished my albums and I’m just now doing the opening page of the first album (it’s a 3 album year!) and I’ve found that there are only the first 6 months embellishments: January through June. I didn’t realize that this is how it was packaged and I’m trying to do a whole year so I need a package of embellishments that have the months July through December.

Any chance at all that there would be some of these around? Is there any way that I could reach consultants across the US to ask this question in case someone has a package that I need? Thank you for your assistance in this (lesson learned – use your stuff as soon as you get it). L

  5. I am not understanding about the blog. You laid out the items needed to do the apple and Autumn page. I have all the items except the template. What do I pay to belong to your Blog? What if you offer something that I wouldn’t use? I will really be glad to hear from you..
