Revel in Earth’s Beauty With This Natural Scrapbook Layout

Earth is truly a treasure chest of wonders — from the rolling hills and craggy rocks we walk upon to the starry night skies and cosmos that are light-years away, and even the simplest of trickling brooks and waterways, there’s so much to revel in our glorious globe. And if you want to create layouts and projects that radiate with natural, earthy beauty, then the Emerald Gemstone collection will definitely rock your crafting world. Take a look at how this collection (with it’s watery washes, crystals galore, bold leaves and more!) breathes life into your albums with this natural scrapbook layout!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use the dark blue stripe tonal paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut a strip of green designer paper to measure 1″ x 12″. Adhere to the right edge of the layout.

Step 3: Cut a piece of the light blue wash tonal paper to measure 4-1/2″ x 12″. 

Step 4: Using the Border Maker System with the Gemstone Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border from the blue outlined gemstones tonal paper. Adhere behind the right edge of the previous strip. Adhere to the layout along the edge of the green paper.

Step 5: Adhere large 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ variety mat along the left edge of the layout.

Step 6: Adhere 6″ x 4″ title mat on top of the previous mat.

Step 7: Cut strips from four different patterns and shades of designer and tonal papers to measure 6-1/2″ x 1-1/4″. Adhere below the mat.

Step 8: Cut five borders to measure 6-1/2″ in length. Adhere one above the mat, and the others between the seams of the paper strips.

Step 9: Cut three photo mats to measure 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″. Adhere to the top of the light blue wash paper strip. Add three photos that measure 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.

Step 10: Adhere stickers using Foam Squares on some for added dimension. Journal as desired.

  1. To me the photos are what I am displaying, they are the most important things. These pages are all about decorations /embellishments even to the point they obscure some of their photos. 3 small photos on a page is a waste of space and money.

  2. I agree with Merilyn and also is it meant to be a one-page layout or is it two pages? If two then where is the divide between them and it’s two pages wasted for very small photos.

  3. I agree with Merilyn also and it seems that a lot of CM layout ideas lately have more embellishments than pictures. It also makes the pages much more time consuming to create. However, they are a good source for general ideas to spread out on numerous pages rather than one. I try to replace some of the embellishments with pictures and leave others as is.
