This Natural Scrapbook Layout Is a Blue-Green Dream Scene

Cool shades — blues, greens and purples — can evoke a calming, soothing, serene feeling and may also remind us of things like water, grass and bright, clear skies. And if you’re looking to find a collection that packs a palette that does just that, then the appropriately named Emerald Gemstone collection has the hues for you. Dive into your next project with this natural scrapbook layout that will make your albums look cooler.

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Using your 12-inch Trimmer with the Straight Blade, cut numerous “L” pieces from a variety of hues and patterns of paper that measure 1/2″.

Step 2: Using your 12-inch Trimmer with the Straight Blade, cut numerous “L” pieces from a variety of hues and patterns of paper that measure3/4″.

Step 3: Place one “L” piece coming in from the left side of the layout. Adhere. 

Step 4: Rotate between 1/2″ and 3/4″ “L” pieces when adhering. Finish the edge with a triangle piece.

Step 5: Continue going around the layout with the “L” pieces. 

Step 6: Cut three photo mats from White Solid Cardstock to measure 6″ x 4″. Adhere to the layout, tucking some under the points of the triangles along the edges.

Step 7: Adhere two photos that measure 5-1/2″ x 3-1/” and one that measures 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.

Step 8: Cut a piece of White Solid Cardstock to measure 5-1/2″ x 1-1/2″. Adhere to the layout to journal on.

Step 9: Adhere stickers, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension. Journal as desired.

  1. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT i NEED BETTER INSTRUCTIONS – OR SIZES – FOR THE FIRST 2 STEPS. iT WOULD ALSO BE NICE TO SEE THIS “IN PROGRESS”

  2. I agree with the previous comments. The directions are very general. A video would be very helpful.

  3. I’m not sure but I think the “L”s are made by cutting down one side of your paper 3/4″ wide, stopping at 3/4″ from bottom, turning and cutting across bottom side 3/4”.

  4. The sketch wasn’t saved on the blog. Is it possible to get that added? Will help me with measurements.
    A side comment: I am hearing impaired and even with the volume maxed out, I cannot understand most of what is being said. This is a complaint I have with a lot of YouTube postings.
