Blog contributor Karyn McDermaid-Rolfe was inspired to create simple, yet stunning cards that gracefully highlight the Keep the Faith Variety Mat Pack and Layered Embellishments — and plenty of pure beauty definitely shines through! (Psst, they would also make for elegant Easter cards!) Take a glimpse at these DIY faith cards and give them a go!
Karyn’s Inspiration:
When I first saw the Keep the Faith collection, I immediately thought the mats and embellishments would make beautiful cards. The sentiments on the mats and embellishments are perfect for cards of comfort or sympathy, as well as Easter cards. Since the materials are so beautiful, I kept my cards on the simple side. I know my friends and family will appreciate receiving something so beautiful and thoughtful in their mailboxes.
To create these cards you will need:
- Blank Card Kit or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Keep the Faith Variety Mat Pack or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Keep the Faith Layered Embellishments or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Custom Cutting System with Oval Patterns or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- 12-inch Trimmer or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Tape Runner or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
Cross Card
Step 1: Cut mat to measure 5-1/4″ x 4″, and adhere to a blank card.
Step 2: Add embellishments as desired.
Faith Over Fear Card
Step 1: Cut mat to measure 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, and adhere to blank card.
Step 2: Cut second mat to measure 3-3/4″ x 5″ and adhere to card.
Step 3: Add an embellishment.
Hallelujah Card
Step 1: Cut 1-1/2″ from the bottom front flap of a blank card.
Step 2: Cut mat into two pieces that measure 5-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ and 5-1/4″ x 1-1/2″.
Step 3: Adhere pieces to the front of the card as shown.
Step 4: Use the second-largest Custom Cutting System Oval Pattern and the Red Blade on the inside edge to cut an oval from a brown mat.
Step 5: Adhere an embellishment to the oval piece, and adhere to the card as shown.
