Take On the National Scrapbook Day #NSD2021 Sketch Challenge

The first Saturday in May is the special day scrapbookers across the globe look forward to — National Scrapbook Day! Well, cue the drumroll (and designs!) because 2021’s National Scrapbook Day (“NSD”) is this Saturday! If you’ll be looking for a way to commemorate the photo celebrations, layout ideations and album creations from the comfort of your craft room, we’ve got the perfect way for you to crop away on the best day of the year!

Join us on the Virtual Crop Facebook Group to take on an #NSD2021 pop-up sketch challenge with TWO layouts that you can create to win YOUR CHOICE of one of two NSD-themed prizes! (Hint: We also have step-by-step instructions to create the layouts in this blog post if you’d prefer to do it that way.)

#NSD2021 Pop-Up Challenge

This pop-up challenge has not one, but TWO sketches with example layouts using the NSD 2021 collection! Note: You do not need to use the NSD 2021 products in your layouts to be eligible to win.

How to Participate:

  1. Review the two sketches below in this post and/or in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group. (You can also refer to the step-by-step instructions below if you’d prefer to do it that way instead of following the sketch!)
  2. Create the layouts using whatever products you have on-hand. Complete as many challenges as you wish, but the more you complete, the more chances you have to win!
  3. Snap a picture of your finished layout(s) and post it in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group by May 2 at 11:59pm CT (Australia: 3 May at 2:59pm AET) with hashtag #NSD2021 for the chance to win a prize. We’ll have 8 lucky winners (4 winners per sketch!) for this challenge — woohoo!
  4. Winners will be announced in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group on May 6 at noon CT.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating NSD Layout #1

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use the black graphic clover paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut a piece of the three- and four-leaf shamrocks paper to measure 3″ x 12″. Adhere to the left edge of the layout.

Step 3: Cut three pieces from the light green wash paper: (2) 7-1/4″ x 5-1/4”” (1) 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″. 

Step 4: Adhere three photos behind the three photo openings of the laser-cut paper. Adhere the previous light green wash papers behind the photos. Adhere the whole laser-cut paper/photos/matted papers to the layout.

Step 5: Adhere stickers and embellishments, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension. 

Step 6: Journal as desired.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating NSD Layout #2

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use Shamrock Solid Cardstock as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Using the Shamrock Recipe Template, trace and cut the desired shapes with the papers of your choice. Adhere to the layout.

Step 3: Cut two photo mats to measure 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. Adhere to the layout.

Step 4: Cut two photos to measure 3″ x 4″. Adhere to the mats.

Step 5: Adhere stickers and embellishments, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

Step 6: Journal as desired.
