Karyn’s Inspiration:

This layout honors the men and women who have given service to our country – especially my dad who served in the U.S. Navy and his friends who belong to and gather at the American Legion in my hometown.

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Cut a hollow 1″ wide frame from a sheet of dark blue plaid paper.

Step 2: Cut the white stars grid paper to measure 11-1/2″ x 11-1/2″, and adhere to the frame.

Step 3: Cut the light blue buntings paper to measure 11-1/2″ x 2″, and adhere to the top of the white stars paper.

Step 4: Cut the blue stars paper to measure 11-1/2″ x 3/4″ and stars and stripes paper to 11-1/2″ x 1/2″.  Layer the pieces and adhere to the bottom of the light blue buntings piece. Add a sticker border to the beneath it.

Step 5: With the inside edge of the medium Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and Red Blade, cut a circle from dark blue plaid paper. With the inside edge of the medium Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Green Blade, cut a circle from blue stars paper. Layer the circles and add stickers as shown. Adhere the piece with Foam Squares to the middle of the top border.

Step 6: Cut the red dots paper to measure 10″ x 4-1/4″. Use All-Purpose Scissors to notch one end to make a ribbon. Adhere to the top of the layout and then add two photos that measure 4″ x 4″.  Cut a 1″ x 4-1/4″ piece from the blue stars paper and adhere to the side of the right photo.

Step 7: Cut a 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ mat from blue stars paper and then adhere a 6″ x 4″ photo. Adhere near the bottom of the layout.

Step 8: To create the ribbon journal box, cut a 3″ x 3″ piece from red dots paper. Use All-Purpose Scissors to notch one edge to make a ribbon. Adhere to the layout as shown. Cut a 3″ x 3/4″ piece from blue stars paper and a 3″ x 1/4″ from stars and stripes paper. Adhere these pieces above the red dots ribbon. Use the inside edge of the medium Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern to cut a circle from white dots paper. Adhere to the middle of the ribbon piece Journal as desired.

Step 9: Add additional stickers with Foam Squares.
