Drift Off to Beachfront Serenity With This Seaside Scrapbook Spread

Many of us have enjoyed long strolls across the sandy-meets-watery playground that is a shoreline. And as you meander along the beach, there are many things to be discovered — seashells, seaweed, coral, interesting rocks, pieces of smooth sea glass, driftwood… and wonderful stories, memories and photo ops, of course! Take a look at this seaside scrapbook spread (plus, a cute little crab you can make yourself!) and let your creativity drift with ease!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use the ocean blue water ripples tonal paper as the base for both sides of the spread.

Step 2: Cut a piece of the red hemp designer paper to measure 12″ x 5″. Adhere horizontally near the top of both sides of the spread.

Step 3: Using the sand ripples designer paper, tear to create a “beach”.

Step 4: Cut the Adirondack chairs laser-cut paper to measure 5-1/4″ wide. Lay this piece on top of White Lined Designer Paper, tracing with a pencil around the inside circle. Cut out with scissors and adhere to a piece of cool taupe burlap tonal paper measuring 5-1/4″ x 12″. Adhere this whole piece to the right edge of the second page of the spread.

Step 6: Using Original Border Maker System with the Rope Chain Border Maker Cartridge, punch two borders from blue wash designer paper. Adhere the borders vertically along the edge of the lined/laser-cut papers edge.

Step 7: Cut photo mats from sky blue bars designer paper to measure (1) 4-1/4″ x 5-1/4″, (1) 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and (3) 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. Adhere to the spread.

Step 8: Adhere a large mat, with a small mat on top of it, for the title.

Step 9: To create the crab, use the red wash tonal paper. Cut one circle from the inside edge of the small Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern with Red Blade, then fold in half, as the body. Cut four circles from the inside edge of the small Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern with Blue Blade, then fold in half, as the claws. Draw the eyes and legs on the crab with a Black Dual-Tip Pen.

Step 10: With the Anchor Punch, punch from Navy Solid Cardstock. Adhere to the title mat as shown.

Step 11: Adhere stickers and embellishments to the spread.

Step 12: Journal as desired on the lined paper with the Navy Dual-Tip Pen.

What are your thoughts on the Seaside collection? Will you be making this seaside scrapbook spread for your maritime, beachfront or ocean view memories?

  1. Great layout but what will you do with the leftover piece from the Adirondack chairs laser- cut paper?

  2. Great idea, cutting the laser cut paper in half! Makes the layout look so good. Thanks for sharing it
