Long before babies understand a single word, most li’l ones love to hear their parents, grandparents and siblings (and really, anyone!) read out loud. Storytime combines soft snuggles, bright and eye-catching pictures, fascinating voices and sounds, and of course, you! It’s a sweet and relaxing way to bond with baby. As an added bonus, a 2019 study found that babies who are read to every day are exposed to 78,000 words each year (or by the time they reach the five-year-old mark, around 1.4 million words cumulatively from storytime!), which could mean a positive impact on their future language skills! Well, let’s get comfy and creative, for it’s time to button up your memories like a cute onesie and make this so-in-love infant scrapbook layout!

Step 1: Choose a sheet of polka dots boy designer paper as the base for this layout.
Step 2: Using the 12-inch Trimmer and the Deckle Blade, cut an 8-3/4″ x 8-3/4″ piece of blue muslin blanket boy designer paper and mount in the middle of the layout. Using the 12-inch Trimmer and the Straight Blade, cut an 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of little footprints designer paper and mount on top. Using a pen and ruler, make small stitch marks all around the little footprints paper edges.
Step 3: Using the 12-inch Trimmer and the Deckle Blade, cut an 8-1/2″ x 3″ piece of receiving blanket stripes designer paper. Mount on the little footprints piece, about 1/2″ from the bottom edge. With the 12-inch Trimmer and the Straight Blade, cut an 8-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ strip of “You are so loved” boy designer paper and adhere on top of the receiving blanket stripes piece. Cut an 8-1/2″ x 2″ strip of ABCs and 123s designer paper and mount on top as shown.

Step 4: Make Xs and Os from a variety of papers. Using the inside edge of the smallest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Blue Blade, cut a circle. Without moving the pattern, switch to the Red Blade and cut a circle. Repeat to make more Os. Cut 1-3/4″ x 1/4″ strips of the same papers. Arrange and adhere in X shapes. Place Xs and Os around the perimeter of the layout, 16 sets in all.
Step 5: Crop two photos to measure 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″. Cut two 5-5/8″ x 3-7/8″ pieces of green plaid designer paper and mount photos on top. Adhere to the layout.

Step 6: Add stickers, popping some up with Foam Squares for added dimension.
Step 7: Cut three 3″ x 1/2″ strips of White Solid Cardstock. Using a pen and ruler, draw border lines around each. Adhere to the layout and journal as desired.
