Cast Your Memories Into The Spotlight With This Red Carpet Themed Scrapbook Layout

Who loves a good party? Whether you’re turning 18 or 88, birthday parties and celebrations are full of music, food, games, photo ops with props, fun, and of course, the star of the birthday show! Well, today we are shining the spotlight on a red carpet themed scrapbook layout — literally — with a DIY spotlight design! So bring on the confetti, balloons and raise your glasses to this showstopper!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use Eggplant Solid Cardstock as the base for the layout.

Step 2: Cut the Fine Gold Shimmer Sold Core Paper to create the “spotlight.” Measure in from the top-left corner, marking at 3″ and 6″. Cut from those markings to the bottom outside corners. Adhere this piece to the black stars tonal paper. Cut a piece from the Black Shimmer Solid Core Paper to measure 3-3/4″ x 2″. Round the bottom two corners with the 2-Way Corner Rounder. Adhere to the top edge of the “spotlight,” trimming off any excess with a scissors. Cut a piece from the Fine Gold Shimmer Solid Core Paper to measure 3-1/2″ x 1/2″. Use the 2-Way Corner Rounder on the bottom two corners. Adhere along the black shimmer piece. Then, trim the entire piece to measure 11-1/2” x 11-1/2”. Adhere to the base.

Step 3: Cut two photo mats from the Eggplant Solid Cardstock to measure 4-1/4″ x 5-1/4″. Adhere to the layout.

Step 4: Cut two photos to 4” x 5”. Adhere to the mats.

Step 5: Adhere embellishments to the layout, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

Step 6: Journal as desired.

What birthday memories or parties would you highlight on this red carpet themed scrapbook layout?
