Be The Star Of The Show With This Red Carpet Themed Scrapbook Layout

Stepping on stage, whether it’s a big-band concert or solo-singing performance, tap-dancing talent show or dramatic theatrical play, can be a nerve-wracking experience. But once the nerves have settled and your confidence is brighter than the spotlight, you are the total star of the show! And to raise the curtain on your on-stage presence, make this red carpet themed layout from scrapbooking star and blog contributor Sachiyo Omitsu to give these memories a well-deserved round of applause.

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Using the outside edge of the Custom Cutting System Jumbo Circle Pattern and the Green Blade, cut a circle from Black Shimmer Solid Core Paper. Use the cut-out frame as the base of this layout. Cut the circle piece in half.

Step 2: Cut a piece of Fine Gold Shimmer Solid Core Paper to measure 11-3/4″ x 11-3/4″ and add to the base frame.

Step 3: Using the outside edge of the Custom Cutting System Jumbo Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a circle from the black dots and stripes designer paper and cut it in half. Add the piece to the black shimmer half-circle piece. Adhere the piece on the base as shown. The straight side is about 5-1/2″ from the bottom.

Step 4: Use the Double Fan Chain Border Maker Cartridge to punch two borders from Black Shimmer Solid Core Paper. Cut a slit in between fans and slightly bend it to form a circular shape. Cut 18 circles using the inside edge of the smallest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Blue Blade from a piece of Eggplant Solid Core Cardstock. Add the circle to the backside of the fans. Adhere the border to the page, tucking under the jumbo half-circle piece.

Step 5: Cut three mats to measure 3-1/2″ x 5″ and one mat to measure 4-1/4″ x 6-1/4″ from the gold glitter designer paper. Cut three mats to measure 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ and one mat to measure 4″ x 6″ from White Shimmer Solid Cardstock. Add to the gold glitter mats.

Step 6: Adhere mats, stickers and embellishments, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

  1. Beautiful layout. I’m going to use it for one of my granddaughters dance recitals when she was 4/5. She’s 12 now.
