Create Projects In Tip-Top Shape: Birthday Scrapbook Borders And DIY Card

Whether you’re celebrating your grandchild’s third birthday, your spouse’s 60h birthday or enjoying a day all about you, it’s sure to be a day filled with fond memories for all. And what better way to celebrate the big hooray day than by taking a look at these birthday scrapbook borders and DIY card!

To create these borders and card you will need:

Young At Heart Border

Birthday-themed horizontal scrapbook border with paper hearts and stickers.

Step 1: Cut blue gingham paper to 12″ x 3-1/2″ using the 12-Inch Trimmer with Scallop Blade.

Step 2: Cut yellow paper to 12″ x 3-1/4″ and adhere to the blue gingham strip.

Step 3: Cut white dot paper to 12″ x 3″ and adhere to the border.

Step 4: Use the Circle Punch to punch three circles from red paper.  Cut the circles in half.

Step 5: Use the Square Punch to punch three squares from red paper.  Cut the squares in half on the diagonal.

Step 6: Assemble and adhere the semi-circles and triangles into heart shapes onto the border leaving about 1/8″ in-between the pieces.

Step 7: Add stickers with Foam Squares.

Birthday Candle Border

Vertical birthday-themed scrapbook border with heart, cupcake and candle stickers.

Step 1: Cut blue Party Time Blue paper to 2-3/4″ x 12″.

Step 2: Cut green stripe paper to 2-1/2″ x 12″ using the 12-Inch Trimmer with the Scallop Blade.  Adhere to the blue strip.

Step 3: Use the Square Punch to punch three squares from yellow paper and three squares from red paper. 

Step 4: Adhere the squares to the green striped strip while alternating colors.

Step 5: Use the Circle Punch to punch five circles from white dot paper.

Step 6: Center and adhere the circles over the seams of the squares.

Step 7: Add stickers with Foam Squares.

A Year Older A Year Bolder Card

Birthday themed card with stickers.

Step 1: Cut purple paper to 5″ x 4-1/4″ using the 12-Inch Trimmer with Scallop Blade. Adhere to the center of a white card base.

Step 2: Use the Square Punch to punch four squares from yellow paper, and adhere the squares to the center of the card.

Step 3: Use the Circle Punch to punch three circles from large dot paper, and adhere to three of the squares.

Step 4: Add stickers with Foam Squares.

  1. Very cute! Love the idea of making heats from the circles and squares. And repeating the shapes is so impactful.

  2. I did this Birthday Candle Border to get ready for a Zoom Crop I am doing tomorrow to show off the Square and Circle Maker. Unfortunately, the directions aren’t clear that you need to leave a small space between the yellow and red squares in order to accomplish the look they have here. Just wanted to let everyone know in case they ran into the same problem. It is a relatively easy fix. :) and I absolutely LOVE the results!
