The Woodland Whimsy Baby Boy and Baby Girl Collections just might be my favorite product line yet! Both collections are full of versatile prints and incredibly cute embellishments and stickers. However, these collections are not just for baby photos. The woodland theme is also perfect for any type of outdoor photos. In fact, I think that the collections are neutral enough to be used for almost any type of photos.
As always, Creative Memories is right on trend with these collections. The woodland theme is currently a popular motif for baby nurseries, and both of my samplers would make a cute decor item. They could be used with an easel on a dresser or framed for the wall. The samplers would also make a great introduction page to a baby scrapbook album.

Today, I’m encouraging you to take a closer look at our new Sorbet Scrapbooking Collection. When I first saw it, I immediately noticed the pinks, purples, yellows and all of the flowers. But on a closer look, I realized that it really is a versatile collection. The feminine colors are balanced by shades of orange, blue, green and gray. It’s obviously going to be fantastic for all types of spring projects and scrapbooking, but the playful artwork of this collection is also going to be great for scrapbooking photos of both my granddaughter and my grandson.

We know that you all love a great sketch.
Sketches have so much life in them. Use different collections each time, and you are sure to have endless possibilities. You can also rotate the sketch right or left, and get a whole new take on it.
Sketches are created as a “jumping off” point for you. They can be interpreted exactly or very loosely. There are not measurements, so you can make it yours.

Dress in layers when heading out to do winter photos and don’t forget your gloves instead of mittens! Also, protect your camera from the winter elements by climatizing it to the cold slowly. Put your camera in your camera bag and put near the front door or in a porch that is colder than the rest of your house, then move your camera bag to the car so it is isn’t directly exposed to the cold, but it is definitely getting colder. This prevents your camera from fogging up when you take it out to start shooting. It is now time to take your camera out into the cold. If it is snowing cover up your camera with a clear plastic bag to protect it from the wet and cut a hole for the lens to fit through. Once your camera is cold you want to avoid getting it warm and then cold again because your lens will fog up similar to your eyeglasses. Also, the condensation is not good for your camera.
Having an extra battery is a good idea. Your camera battery won’t last as long in the cold so have a back up one in your pocket where it is warm.

I like to think of my scrapbooks as more than just a collection of photos that highlight our family events but rather as my own personal diary that tells the story of my life. So I like to include mention of significant local and world events in my albums along with commentary of how the events impacted me and my family at the time. This expands my role from memory keeper to history keeper. Essentially my albums have become a snap shot of history in the making.
