Ah, Valentine’s Day — the day with love in the air, heavy chocolate consumption and procrastinating boyfriends/husbands and girlfriends/wives flooding grocery stores and flower shops with last-minute shopping. At its core, Valentine’s Day is all about showing appreciation for the people who you love most in your life. Whether it’s a significant other, friends or family, we all have a Valentine in our life. Take the time to show them that you appreciate them and love them by doing something special on the 14th this year! It could be a card, a nice dinner or even just a hug — whatever you can do to spread a little love.
Today, we’ve got a card sketch idea for you in case you’re looking for a last-second thoughtful gift! And, if you want an “awww” moment to brighten your day, we asked several members of Creative Memories® Home Office about special Valentine’s Day gifts that they’ve received. Have you had a chance to check out Mi Amor yet? It’s an absolutely beautiful product collection that will be so much fun to play with come Valentine’s Day with all the fun photos that can be used to create a layout.
Welcome to Part 2, Mi Amor 2 for 1 Borders.
Did you like the border ideas, which get cut up into two pieces–using one portion for 8×8 pages? In this post, you will see how to add the rest of those pieces to create beautiful cards.
Using the pictures as your guide, make 12 Valentine cards with your remaining border pieces. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please refer back to Part 1.)
2 for 1 is always a great thing, right? How about this: Start by creating a dozen borders using the Mi Amor collection. Then cut them apart and use one set to decorate an 8×8 Album for your sweetheart and the other set to make a dozen Valentine greeting cards.
I always turn to my digital scrapbooking collections when creating cards, invites or posters for special occasions. Valentine’s Day is one of those times when I love to create cards for my loved ones and Valentines for my children to take to school to deliver to their friends and classmates.
Mi Amor digital kit has lots of embellishments to suit all ages from children to adults.
Today I want to share with you one of my absolute favourite fun folds for making cards. It’s called an easel fold. Every time I’ve given an easel card to a friend or family member they are always received with such awe and amazement – when really, it’s such an easy card to make!
So, I chose to use Mi Amor for these cards because Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. It’s sort of fun to go all out and make an extra special, handmade card to show the ones you love just how special they are!
As the photos show above – this fun fold will allow your cards to sit on display in a propped up position so that not only does your card front show, but also some of your inside embellishments and any greeting or message you choose to write below your embellishments!
