I’ve been having so much fun scrapping all our vacation photos from last summer using the new Cool Serenity Collection – blues, greens and turquoises are my favorite colors and they work so well with the photos of my family at the lake and ocean. I’ve enjoyed playing around and I’m happy to share a new 1-2-3 layout with you!
As part of our road trip vacation last summer we stayed in North Vancouver, B.C. for a few days. One evening we ventured out to a lovely little marina community called Deep Cove. We enjoyed walking around and watching all the boats, climbing down onto the rocks and beach, and then capped off our night with an incredible seafood feast at the most charming bistro overlooking the picturesque marina. We even discovered a new favorite wine and couldn’t leave without bringing home a few bottles to remember our lovely evening! I love that working with these photos brought back all those great memories and, I LOVE how the layout turned out!
As you can see, this layout has space for 6 photos, but of course you can add more or replace some with decorative elements. Make sure to adapt and change these layouts to suit YOUR photos and YOUR needs! Here is the sketch for the layout…
…and here is the cutting guide for you to follow!
(To make it even easier for you, you can download and print a copy of the sketch, cutting guide and bonus card sketch by clicking here!)
And, because I know you enjoy watching the process, while I was putting the layout together I made a little video for you! Enjoy!
(You can also view this video on youtube.)
One thing I really like about the 1-2- 3 layouts is how fast they come together. As you can see in the video, the basic layout only took me a few minutes to cut and put together, and then I spent about another 10 minutes deciding on embellishments, title and writing the journaling. Because I decided to use Foam Squares to make my embellishments “pop”, I went through the extra step of mounting the stickers onto some scraps of white cardstock and then trimmed around them before adhering them to the layout.
Don’t forget about the Bonus Card Sketch! You’ll find it on the printable handout, and its so easy to adapt it to suit whatever occasion you need a card for! I used the same paper for the card as I did for the layout and simply added some sticker embellishments. I’m going to be sending this one to a colleague who just retired after 30 years of teaching and will be traveling for the next several months.
So whether you have fun vacation plans ahead this summer, or fond vacation memories that you want to save, I do hope you get a chance to download the handout and create this 1-2- 3 layout to celebrate and share them!
Happy Scrapping!
