Have you ever finished up a project and wondered what to do with those tiny bits of leftover paper? Do you throw them out or let them sit on your craft, waiting patiently for months for a scrappy purpose? Blog contributor Sachiyo Omitsu challenged herself to have minimal (in fact, close to nil!) extras behind, which she was successfully able to do by creating two flower scrapbook ideas that work off of each other! Give them a go today!
Sachiyo’s Inspiration
What is your most cherished scrapbooking tool? Mine is the Custom Cutting System, especially with the Jumbo Circle Pattern. As I hear some people are not so happy about the scraps we get after cutting a circle, I challenged myself to use up the leftover pieces. In today’s blog, I used three sheets of papers to create the base of two layouts without leaving any scraps in the end. (Please note: You will have some scraps after punching pieces for decoration.)
To create these layouts you will need:
- Botanical Burst Buy-It-All Decorative Bundle or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Lime, Navy & White Solid Cardstocks or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Must Have Laser Words – Pack 2 or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Spring Leaf Punch or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Five Leaf Punch or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Custom Cutting System with Jumbo Circle & Circle Patterns or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- 12-inch Trimmer or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Splash & Summer Sun Dot Tip Pens or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Brown Dual-Tip Pen or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Repositionable Tape Runner or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Foam Squares or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)

Layout 1

Step 1: Cut a circle and ring using the outside of the Custom Cutting System Jumbo Circle Pattern with the Green and Red Blade from the yellow stripes designer paper. Set aside the circle and ring for Layout 2*. Use the cut-out piece as the base of Layout 1.

Step 2: Cut a piece of White Solid Cardstock to measure 11-3/4″ x 11-3/4″. Using the Summer Sun Dot Tip Pen, draw a circle by tracing the inside of the Custom Cutting System Jumbo Circle Pattern (You could also use the Circle Cutter for this). Move the Jumbo Circle Pattern slightly and draw another circle and then a third circle, overlapping the lines. Repeat the same steps using the Splash Dot Tip Pen. Draw dots randomly using the Dot Pens. Adhere to the base.

Step 3: Using the Spring Leaf Punch and Five Leaf Punch, punch several pieces from Light Lime Solid Cardstock. Adhere the punched leaves, as well foiled petals and foiled leaves embellishments to the page, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
Step 4: Cut a circle from a piece of White Solid Cardstock using the inside of the Custom Cutting System Jumbo Circle Pattern with the Red Blade. Adhere the circle piece to the page, using Foam Squares. Set aside the cutout piece as the base of Layout 2**.
Step 5: Color the “This was a fantastic day” title embellishment with the Brown Dual-Tip Pen. Add to the page.
Layout 2

Step 1: Adhere the circle and ring* cut from the yellow stripes designer paper to the White Solid Cardstock base**.
Step 2: Cut a circle using the inside of the medium Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern with the Green Blade from Navy Solid Cardstock. Adhere in the back of “Memories” title embellishment. Add “Joy” title embellishment using Foam Squares. Add to the page.

Step 3: Using the Five Leaf Punch, punch five times each from Light Lime Solid Cardstock and pink stripes designer paper. Cut pink pieces and make flowers as shown. Add to the page.

Step 4: Add a piece of White Solid Cardstock in the back of “Lots of” title embellishment. Adhere a border sticker (from Botanical Burst Buy-It-All Decorative Bundle) and another title embellishment, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.
