Tree-t Your Scrapbooking Ideas With The Oak Tree Punch

Every year on the 22nd of April, many people across the globe celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation. And in homage to this day, we thought it would be fitting to have some projects using the Oak Tree Punch AND to have a #2022EarthDay challenge (which was posted in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group!)

Real Life Beautiful Moments Border

Step 1: Cut a 12″ x 2-3/4″ strip of Sepia Hues stripes paper for the base. Cut a 12″ x 2-1/4″ strip of Blue Hues polka dots paper and adhere on the base.

Step 2: Using the swell edge of the 12-inch Decorative Trimmer, cut a 12″ x 1″ strip of Green Hues arrows paper. Adhere on the border.

Step 3: Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch six shapes each from Sepia Hues triangles paper and Green Hues falling leaves paper. Using scissors, cut out the leafy tops of the green shapes and adhere on the sepia shapes. Mount on the border as shown, popping some of the trees up with Foam Squares for added dimension.

Step 4: Adhere the “Real life” laser title embellishment with Foam Squares and the “Beautiful memories” laser title embellishment with the Precision Point Adhesive Pen.

Easy Living Border

Step 1: Cut a 12″ x 2-3/4″ strip of Green Hues starbursts paper for the base. Cut a 12″ x 1-1/8″ strip of Green Hues scattered leaves paper and a 12″ x 1-1/8″ strip of Sepia Hues woven keys paper. Adhere both to the base as shown.

Step 2: Cut a 3″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Green Hues arrows paper. Using scissors, cut a “V” shape from one 3″ side to make a banner. Adhere to the border as shown.

Step 3: Cut six 1-1/2″ squares of White Solid Cardstock and mount on six 1-5/8″ squares of Sepia Hues papers. Adhere to the border at regular intervals.

Step 4: Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch six shapes each from Sepia Hues lined and triangles papers, as well as various Green Hues papers. Using scissors, cut out the leafy tops of the green shapes and adhere on the sepia shapes. Mount on the squares.

Step 5: Adhere the “Easy living” laser title embellishment with Foam Squares for added dimension.

Enjoy the Journey Card

Step 1: Create the card base. Cut an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of White Solid Cardstock. Using the 12-inch Trimmer and the Scoring Blade, score along the long edge at 4-1/4″ and fold in half.

Step 2: Cut a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Green Hues leaf collage paper and adhere to the front of the card. Cut a 4-1/4″ x 3/4″ strip of Sepia Hues sand paper and adhere on the card, about 2-1/4″ from the bottom edge.

Step 3: Using the outside edge of the smallest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a half circle with Sepia Hues sand paper. Using the inside edge of the large Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a circle with Sepia Hues dotted paper and mount on the sand piece. Adhere on the card.

Step 4: Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch three shapes each from Sepia Hues lined paper and Green Hues leaf collage paper. Using scissors, cut out the leafy tops of the green shapes and adhere on the sepia shapes. Mount on the half circle.

Step 5: Cut a 4-1/4″ section of Green Hues leaves border sticker and adhere on the card. Adhere the “Enjoy the journey” laser title embellishment with the Precision Point Adhesive Pen.

To create these borders and corner embellishment, you will need:

In the Woods Border

Step 1: Cut a 12″ x 2-1/2″ strip of dark moss designer paper for the base. Cut a 12″ x 1-1/4″ strip of green abstraction designer paper and mount on the base. Adhere a tree rings laser-cut border.

Step 2: Cut a 3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ piece of tree grain texture paper. Top with a 3″ x 1-1/2″ piece of White Solid Cardstock. Mount on the border as shown.

Step 3: Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch three trees from wood grain designer paper and three from leaves texture paper. Trim out the foliage from the green trees and mount on the wood grain trees. Adhere to the white piece, popping the middle tree up with Foam Square for added dimension.

Step 4: Add stickers as desired.

Breathtaking Moments Border

Step 1: Cut a 12″ x 3″ strip of fallen leaves designer paper for the base. Cut a 12″ x 1″ strip of wood grain designer paper and adhere to the bottom of the base. Mount a wood grain laser-cut border on top.

Step 2: Cut six 1-1/2″ squares of Light Gray Solid Cardstock. Cut six 1-1/4″ squares of various papers (wood grain, marbled wood, pines) and mount on top. Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch six trees and adhere to the tops of the squares. Mount on the border.

Step 3: Add stickers, popping some up with Foam Squares for added dimension.

Oak Trees Border

Step 1: Cut a 3″ x 12”” strip of tree bark texture paper for the base.

Step 2: Cut a 2-1/2″ x 10-3/4″ strip of green abstraction designer paper and adhere to the base.

Step 3: Cut a 2-1/8″ x 10-3/8″ strip of White Solid Cardstock and adhere to the border. Cut three 2″ squares of wooden cabin texture and two 2″ squares of leaves texture paper. Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch once in the middle of each square. Adhere the squares to the border, leaving a slight space between as shown.

Step 4: Mount the green trees on the brown squares, popping them up with small pieces of Foam Squares. Mount the brown trees on the green squares, also using Foam Squares.

Oak Trees Corner Embellishment

Step 1: Cut a 5-1/4″ square of green abstraction designer paper. Cut in half diagonally to create two triangles. Use one for the base.

Step 2: Cut a 4″ square of each ombre wood grain and dark moss designer papers. Cut each in half diagonally. Mount one triangle of each on the base triangle, angling slightly as shown. (Tip: Save the remaining three triangles to make an embellishment for another corner on the layout.)

Step 3: Using the Oak Tree Punch, punch three trees from wood grain designer paper and three from leaves texture paper. Trim out the foliage from the green trees and mount on the brown trees. Adhere to the corner with Foam Squares along with a sticker title.
