Patriotic Projects: USA Scrapbook Ideas For The Fourth Of July

Did you know: The U.S. Census Bureau has estimated there were around 2.5 million people living in America when the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776? Fast forward 246 years, and the States have erupted like a firework to more than 332 million people! (That’s a lot of backyard BBQs and hotdogs, parades and red-white-and-blue gear!) Well, to pay homage to this major midsummer, birthday bonanza of a day, here are two USA scrapbook ideas that Uncle Sam approves of!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Cut a 1″ hollow frame from a sheet of blue gingham paper.

Step 2: Cut a 1″ hollow frame from an 11-1/4″ x 11-1/4″ piece of rich berry red chevron paper. Align and adhere to the blue gingham hollow frame.

Step 3: Cut fireworks paper to 11″ x 11″ and adhere to the middle of the rich berry red chevron frame.

Step 4: Cut a 4-1/4″ x 7-1/2″ piece from both rich berry red chevron and dark blue polka dots papers.

Step 5: Cut a 4-1/4″ x 2″ piece from both rich berry red chevron and dark blue polka dots papers. Cut diagonally from the middles of the pieces at 2-1/8″ to the bottom-right and bottom-left corners to create triangles.

Step 6: Cut an 1-1/4″ square from both the rich berry red chevron and dark blue polka dots papers. Cut the squares in half on the diagonal to create triangles.

Step 7: Assemble and adhere the rectangle pieces and the triangle pieces to create two large firecrackers on the layout.

Step 8: Use the 12-inch Trimmer with the Victorian Blade to cut two 2″ x 2-1/2″ pieces from the equal parts bold stars-and-stripes paper. Adhere below the firecrackers as shown and use All-Purpose Scissors to cut off the excess overhang.

Step 9: Crop photos to 4″ x 3-1/2″ and adhere to the firecrackers.

Step 10: Cut two 4-1/4″ x 1/2″ strips from White Solid Cardstock. Adhere in between the photos and journal on.

Step 11: Use the Firecracker Punch to punch two firecrackers from dark blue polka dots paper. Adhere as shown.

Step 12: Add stickers with Foam Squares for added dimension.

Contiguous US Recipe Template Layout

To create this layout you will need:

Take a closer look at the Contiguous US Recipe Template in the video below!

Step 1: Use a piece of Light Blue Solid Cardstock as the base for the layout.

Step 2: Use a pencil to trace the paper pieces as shown or as desired using the Contiguous US Recipe Template. Cut the pieces with the Micro-Tip Scissors and adhere to the layout.

Step 3: Use the Photo Labeling Pencil to trace photos as shown or as desired using the Contiguous US Recipe Template. Cut the photos with Micro-Tip Scissors and adhere to the layout.

Step 4: To add another photo to the layout, try using the Custom Cutting System Patterns. The layout above uses the outside edge of the smallest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern with the Red Blade for the photo and the Green Blade with Light Blue Solid Cardstock for the mat.

Step 5: Journal and add stickers with Foam Squares for added dimension as desired.

How are you celebrating the upcoming patriotic weekend and Fourth of July? Will you be making these USA scrapbook layouts after all the fun red-white-and-blue festivities are said and done?
