Time to spring into creativity — the April Virtual Crop starts NOW, and you’re in for a weekend packed with fresh inspiration, connection and scrap-happy fun! Get excited for 4 brand-new sketch challenges designed to make scrapbooking your memories a breeze.

In this post, you will find ALL 4 sketches for this crop (these sketches are for the entire weekend; no additional sketches will be posted), a downloadable PDF with the 4 sketches for your convenience, hashtags to use when posting your challenge layouts in the Virtual Crop Group, prize information and layout inspiration. This is about to be an amazing weekend and we can’t wait to see what you create!
To make sure we see all your submissions for a chance to win, you’ll want to post each layout you complete as its own new post with the hashtag for that challenge. You have until Tuesday, April 15, at 11:59pm CT (AU: Wednesday, 16 April, at 2:59pm AET) to submit your layouts for the chance to win a prize (more details on what you can win further down this post!). NOTE: The Prize Pack will be awarded to one (1) participant in each challenge. Valid only for products currently in stock (excludes products that are out of stock and expected to return).
We will award the prizes randomly, but to win, it must be obvious you used the sketch we provided as inspiration to create a project. You’re highly encouraged to use Creative Memories products, but it’s not a requirement to win. You have until Tuesday, April 15, at 11:59pm CT (AU: Wednesday, 16 April, at 2:59pm AET) to submit your layout(s). Prize winners will be announced on Thursday, April 17, at noon CT (AU: Friday, 18 April).
Challenge #1
Collection Used: Noteworthy Days (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
Noreen’s Tip: “Although the sketch calls for four 11″ borders around the edges of the paper pieces, the Dollop Arches Frame Punch works perfectly as well! Start with a 12×12 sheet of Canary Cardstock to punch the frame, then layer the paper pieces shown on the sketch on top of it. The large horizontal band going across the center of the layout is the perfect place to use the bold Blue Alphabet Embellishments for an eye-catching large title! Also note that I replaced one of the 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ photos with a tag embellishment to create a spot for journaling.”

Collection Used: Hats Off (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
Noreen’s Tip: “You can add a patchwork of 1-1/4″ squares to this layout as shown on the sketch, but it’s easy to up the wow factor. To make the decorative squares on the sample layout, punch a 1-3/4″ circle, adhere the 1-1/4″ square to the center of it, then fold the sides of the circle up and over the edges of the square! Look at all the visual interest it creates on this somewhat neutral layout!”

Collection Used: Hit The Road (Shop Canada) (Shop Australia)
Noreen’s Tip: “The Road Trip Border Punch is so fun to play with! Punch a few borders from various papers or cardstock, then cut out the SUVs to layer on top of your base for a row of multi-colored vehicles headin’ on down the road! It was also fun to use the scenic highway paper as the 8″ x 12″ paper piece – just cut off 2″ from either side of the paper to keep the road in the center!”

Collection Used: Springtime Soiree (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
Noreen’s Tip: “This collection just shouts spring and I’m excited for the first flower buds and shoots to pop up so I can showcase them with these gorgeous papers! I found that creating the full 12″ layered borders FIRST before cutting them into two 6″-long pieces is much easier than trying to layer various 6″ pieces together evenly! Happy Spring!”
