Creative Gift Guide: The Legacy Builder

Holiday gifting is around the corner and many of you are searching for that perfect gift for your loved ones (or yourselves!). That’s why we’ve started our Holiday Gift Guide Series—to help you find the perfect gift for every person and every project on your list with the help of Home Office!

Each week leading up to the holidays, a member of the Creative Memories team will share their own personal holiday shopping list. They will show you exactly what they’re treating themselves to and what meaningful gifts they are picking out for friends and family. From the essentials every beginner needs to the specialty tools every expert covets, this series will help sharpen your shopping focus and inspire you to gift the joy of memory keeping this season.

Today’s gift guide comes from, Brittany Malluege, from Home Office who is a lifetime scrapbooker and her family’s historian.

Some words from Brittany:

My approach to holiday gifting is straightforward — ask for a list of what the person wants, then choose the thing(s) I think they’ll be most excited about.

This year I’m shopping for my teenage nieces! They’ve recently gotten into scrapbooking — especially the Scrap Journal — and we’ve had a few creative afternoons together. They’re naturals, coming up with their own layouts, experimenting with torn paper edges, and mixing and matching stickers and embellishments like seasoned pros.

Since they take a ton of photos, I’m planning to surprise them with Peekaboo Pockets so they can tuck even more memories into their Scrap Journals, and the Happy Album Planner Kit so they can capture what’s happening during their busy teen years. I’ll also be gifting them their own tools — the 12-inch Trimmer (an absolute must) and the Rainbow Pen Bundle for a splash of color and creativity.

What I love most about this gift is that it’s something we get to do together — and later, they’ll have something tangible to flip through and relive. It’s a refreshing break from the Snapchat world of disappearing moments — instead, they’re learning the joy of choosing the photos they want to remember.

What I’m Shopping for Myself

Product NameRationale
Magic of Christmas Decorative BundleChristmas is a big deal in my family! I always have a bunch of photos from our family holiday in Vegas, and because I scrapbook “chronologically” by season, I always want the newest Christmas collection to keep my Christmas layouts fresh. The decorative bundle gives me ALL of the coordinating products in just one click.
Power Project FoldersI am obsessed with these folders for organizing my decorative products! Simply cannot have enough of them.
Power Project CaseMy favorite for organizing my Power Project Folders! The removable lid makes it easy to access my products while scrapbooking.
Foam Squares Variety PackI love these for layering clusters…. I’m fairly certain I don’t have a layout that doesn’t include Foam Squares somewhere on it.
Festive Greetings and/or Merry Mail Card KitsHey, I said Christmas is a big deal in our family! Creating handmade cards for one another and/or to give to others is a fun activity.
