Creative Gift Guide: The Journaler

So many big moments, trips, and exciting days can easily become a bit blurry in the rush of things. That’s why we’re launching our Holiday Gift Guide Series—to help you find the perfect gift for every person and every project on your list!

Each week leading up to the holidays, a member of the Creative Memories Home Office team will share their own personal holiday shopping list. They will show you exactly what they’re treating themselves to and what meaningful gifts they are picking out for friends and family. From the essentials every beginner needs to the specialty tools every expert covets, this series will help sharpen your shopping focus and inspire you to gift the joy of memory keeping this season.

First up, Sarah Held, from Home Office who is an avid journaler and is hoping to gift something meaningful to her mother.

Some words from Sarah:

The holidays always bring a moment of pause, and I love to reflect on the year that’s passed. So many big moments, trips, and exciting days can easily become a bit blurry in the rush of things. That’s why I love looking back through my journals to sharpen those memories, which helps me realign with clarity for the year ahead. I keep one journal per year to ensure a clear, chronological narrative. This also makes it easy to go through my photos and select the best shots for my Scrap Journal.

This year, I’m treating myself to a new Scrap Journal and all the decorative supplies that align with my vision for 2025. I love leaning on Peekaboo Pockets to showcase all the mementos I accumulate throughout the year (as a bit of a hoarder)—it gives a new, organized angle to traditional junk journaling by creating a highlighted memory focus. Seeing all these mementos helps me easily choose the best photos for visual storytelling! Plus, I’m absolutely in love with Creative Memories’ new photo prints; the perfect lustre finish is exactly the aesthetic I’m going for.

This holiday season, I’m gifting an active experience. I’m planning dedicated time with my mom to work on our albums together. She has always been a journal lover but is new to scrapbooking, and we both have lots of art from the year we want to catalog. This will be a fun activity for us to do together and a meaningful way to recap our years. Because she is new to scrapbooking, she needs some of the basics like a Photo Trimmer and Adhesive, and I’m thrilled to see her fall in love with our 2-Way Corner Rounder. Since our love language is quality time, this gift will be really special and give us an opportunity to share something meaningful all year long.

What I am treating myself to:

Product NameRationale
Scrap Journal Album CoverThe perfect size choice between a journal and a scrapbook. It is the ultimate hybrid album and portable size to capture my year while on the move.
Scrap Journal Refill Pages (13/pk) – SpargoI love the Spargo color, it has a crisp look while still being natural enough as a base.
Circle PunchThe circle cut outs of my daily life will be a fun addition to my pages and bring size down to scale a bit for the Scrap Journal size pages.
Peekaboo PocketsKeeping my momentos and little treasures is so easy to do with the various sizes of peekaboo pockets and allows me to add something special to my pages without too much real estate.
Repositionable Tape Runner RefillA no-brainer! I am always flying through adhesive and this is my all-time favorite.

What I am gifting to my mom:

Product NameRationale
