Let’s be honest, there’s a time and place for a plain, simple card. But for those other times and other places, we want the sentiment with the style! There’s nothing like a fun, spunky card that showcases the thought and effort that was put into making it. Taking your creativity to the top is easy with the happy hues of the Rainbow Rush collection! It’s the perfect place to start as you make your DIY rainbow card ideas a reality and send pops of personality and pizzazz to friends and family!
Marja’s Inspiration:
Are you ready to get crafty with the awesome Rainbow Rush Collection? I am always looking for cards to send to friends and family and I LOVE hand-making them. Being a mama of three little ones, my craft time is limited and precious so I love working on quick projects that make me feel accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. This set of cards took me just 10 minutes — 10! Grab the supplies listed below and let’s see if you can whip up some cards in record time, too! In fact, set a timer and comment below with how quickly you were able to create these fun cards!
To create these cards you’ll need:
- Rainbow Rush Bold Paper Pack (or Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Rainbow Rush Laser Border Embellishments or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Rainbow Rush Layered Title Embellishments or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Blank Card Kit or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- 12-inch Trimmer or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- All-Purpose Scissors or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Tape Runner or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Repositionable Tape Runner Refill or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Foam Squares or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)

Step 1: Pick out the blue, green, yellow and red papers from the Rainbow Rush Bold Paper Pack. Cut each of them at 4-1/4″ with the pattern going from dark at the top to light at the bottom. Using those 4-1/4″ x 12″ strips, cut a 1″ x 4-1/4″ strip out of the darkest part of the patterned paper. Cut another piece at 5-1/2″ so you end up with a card panel that measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
Step 2: Take four blank cards out of the Blank Card Kit and adhere the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ pieces of patterned paper to the front of the cards using the Tape Runner. These panels should perfectly cover the front of the card.
Step 3: From Rainbow Rush Laser Border Embellishments, pick out the green and blue circular embellishment as well as the purple and yellow strip embellishment.
Step 4: From Rainbow Rush Layered Title Embellishments, pick out the “Hello,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” You’re Amazing” and “You Make Me Happy” titles.
Blue “Hello” Card:

Use the card with the blue base, vertically. Adhere the yellow 1″ x 4-1/4″ strip to the middle of the the card horizontally with the Tape Runner. Adhere the green circular embellishment with Foam Squares to the middle of the card and add the “Hello” title embellishment with the Tape Runner.
Yellow “Some Kind of Wonderful” Card:

Use the card with the yellow base, horizontally. Adhere the red 1″ x 4-1/4″ strip to the lower right side of the the card horizontally with Foam Squares. Adhere the yellow strip embellishment to the right edge of the card horizontally over the red strip with the Tape Runner and Repositionable adhesive. (Note: This adhesive is super easy to use and it gets adhesive on all of the fine detail of the embellishment!) Adhere the “Some Kind of Wonderful” title to the right side of the strip.
Green “You’re Amazing” Card:

Use the card with the green base, horizontally. Using the Tape Runner and Repositionable adhesive, adhere the purple embellishment strip to the bottom of the green panel. Use All-Purpose Scissors to trim off the extra that hangs over the two sides. Adhere the “You’re Amazing” title to the bottom right side of the purple strip using Foam Squares.
Red “You Make Me Happy” Card:

Use the card with the red base, vertically. Adhere the blue 1″ x 4-1/4″ strip to the middle of the the card horizontally with the Tape Runner. Adhere the blue circular embellishment with Foam Squares to the middle of the card. Adhere the “You Make Me Happy” title embellishment with the Tape Runner.
