Make Your Heart Happy with these DIY Valentine’s Card & Scrapbook Borders

Have you ever created a craft for your Valentine? Crafting is a fun way to take your heart off your sleeve and put it onto paper to show that special someone how you feel. They say it’s the thought that counts, and these crafts are an incredibly thoughtful way to show your Valentine how you feel. Check out this DIY Valentine’s card and scrapbook borders for some fun ideas on how to show some love!

To create these borders and card, you will need:

You Me Us Border

Step 1: Cut a 12″ x 2-1/2″ strip of Crimson Cardstock for the base.

Step 2: Using the Dips & Diamonds Border Maker Cartridge, punch a border with green patterned paper. Trim it to measure 2-1/4″ wide and punch the other side. Adhere it to the border.

Step 3: Cut a 12″ x 1-3/4″ strip of heart patterned paper. Adhere it to the border, making sure the green scallops show from behind. Cut a 12″ x 1-1/8″ strip of striped paper and mount it on top.

Step 4: Adhere the heart trios with arrows to each side of the border. Add the “You Me Us” heart trio to the middle with Foam Squares. Add the ivy heart and flowers.

Love Border

Step 1: Punch a border with the Lace Trim Border Punch and Crimson Cardstock. Trim it to measure 12″ x 2-5/8″ to make the base. Punch another border with the Lace Trim Border Punch and pink patterned paper. Trim it to measure 12″ x 2-1/4″ and mount it on the base.

Step 2: Cut sections of striped paper to measure 12″ x 2″ and adhere them to the border. Add a floral border sticker on top.

Step 3: Mount the scalloped heart embellishments. Add the “Love You” heart, popping it up with Foam Squares. Add a floral sticker.

You Make My Heart Happy Card

Step 1: Cut an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Crimson Cardstock. Using the 12-inch Trimmer Scoring Blade, score the long side in the middle at 4-1/4″ and fold it in half to make the card.

Step 2: Using the 12-inch Trimmer Wave Blade, cut a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of pink designer paper and adhere it to the front of the card. Switch back to the 12-inch Trimmer Straight Blade and cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of heart patterned paper and mount it on top.

Step 3: Adhere two heart embellishments to the card. Cut an arrow in half and tuck each end into the cuts in the scalloped heart, as shown. Add the “you make my heart happy” sticker with Foam Squares.
