Roses are red, violets are blue. Here’s a sweet card that’s just for you! There’s something about homemade items that means just a little bit more, especially when it comes to cards — the time you took to design it, write in it and send it off to friends and family near and far makes for a heartfelt reminder of your love and appreciation. Blog contributor Tina Kistinger knows the value of a handmade card, and this year, she used the Heart to Heart Border Punch to craft a gorgeous DIY Valentine’s Day card. Take a look below, give it a go and send it off to those you know!
Tina’s Inspiration:
I love hearts! Valentine’s Day is one of my most beloved holidays, mainly because I love to make cards to send to family and dear friends. This year, I challenged myself to make my own background using the Heart to Heart Border Punch and I’m thrilled with how it turned out.

To create this card you’ll need:
- Love Wins Paper Pack or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Crimson & White Solid Cardstocks or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Heart to Heart Border Punch or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Alphabet Stamp Kit System or (Shop Canada) | Shop Australia)
- 12-inch Trimmer or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- All-Purpose Scissors or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Tape Runner or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Repositionable Tape Runner or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)
- Foam Squares or (Shop Canada | Shop Australia)

Step 1: Cut a piece of Crimson Solid Cardstock to measure 4-1/4″ x 11″. Score at 5-1/2″ and fold to make a top folding card.
Step 2: Cut a hearts patterned paper to measure 4″ x 5″.

Step 3: Punch out six borders using the Heart to Heart Border Punch in contrasting paper longer than the previously cut piece.
Step 4: Apply adhesive to the border strips and adhere them as shown. Trim off the excess border strips.
Step 5: Stamp L, O, V and E using the Alphabet Stamp Kit System onto White Solod Cardstock. Trim and mat onto Crimson Solid Cardstock.
Step 6: Adhere L-O-V-E blocks to the card using Foam Squares.

These cards are so adorable for Valentine’s, and since I do not have that exact heart BMC, but I do have another one, plus I have the Rose Chain I am thinking of switching the card around by using those tools. I really like this card.
Beautiful! Making these for my grandsons.
I will be making these. I haven’t used my alphabet stamps yet. Thank you.
I am all about CREATIVE MEMORIES but what I REALLY NEED are protective page sleeves
Leslie, you can click on the Shop link at the top of this page and order page protectors. You can also search for a CM Advisor near you and see if she has any.
