2022 is coming to a close, which means December is almost done… but we can’t end the month without a last hurrah of a Completed Album Challenge in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group! (Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty more in 2023.)

Need a refresher on how this challenge works? Here’s your friendly 411: If you completed an album this month (does not need to be from start to finish in December, just completed in December), make a short video flipping through your pages in your newly completed album. Then, post your video in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group with the hashtag #DecemberCropDontStop for the chance to be a winner. Add the finishing touch to your album with this elegant silver and gold scrapbook layout — it’ll really make a lasting statement!

Here’s an example of what your Completed Album Challenge video could look like!

Layout by Krislyn Mattei — CM Independent Advisor

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of brushstroke stripes tonal paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Cut a 6″ x 6″ piece with black triangle lines tonal paper. Position one corner on the silver line on the right arm of the Damask Flourish Frame Punch. Punch, then rotate the adjacent corner and position on the silver line on the left arm of the punch. Punch (giving you one punched corner). Repeat with the other three corners. Cut the piece in half and place each half on the bottom left and right sides of the layout as shown.

Step 3: Cut two 2″ x 6″ strips with slate damask tonal paper and one 2″ x 6″ strip with kraft tan tonal paper. Align a short end of one strip in the punch, turning it upside down to better position it. Punch, then punch the other side. Repeat with the other strips. Adhere between the black pieces.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3 to create pieces for the top of the layout with slate damask, kraft tan and black triangle lines tonal papers. Cut each punched end to 1-3/4″ and adhere to the top edge of the layout.

Step 5: Cut a 10-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece with kraft tan tonal paper and adhere on the layout. Crop two 3″ x 4″ and one 4″ x 4″ photos and adhere on the piece.

Step 6: Place a border sticker across the middle of the bottom damask flourish piece. Using the inside of the largest Custom Cutting System Circle Pattern and the Red Blade, cut a circle with kraft tan tonal paper. Using the Green Blade, cut a circle with White Solid Cardstock and mount on top. Adhere on the layout.

Step 7: Add embellishments and journal as desired.

Who’s ready to tackle the December Completed Album Challenge to finish out that album that’s just calling for a creative conclusion? Will this silver and gold scrapbook layout be the answer? Take some time for yourself to complete your awesome album, take a video flipping through the pretty pages and post your video to the Virtual Crop Facebook Group! You may just be a lucky golden winner!

  1. I use to be a Creative Memories Rep. I still have the large tote that I carried all the supplies in for the party gatherings. Is it possible to start back up with you again? I am disabled but I live in Lebanon Indiana at a elderly/disabled community. I strongly believe that this would be a big hit for the people who live here and give them something to do, to hold on to their special memories of their lives!

    Sincerely your friend,
