January Completed Album Challenge PLUS A Creative Memories-Themed Scrapbook Layout

In 2022, we introduced the Completed Album Challenge… and we’re continuing the awesomeness (and the satisfaction of finishing an album!) into 2023! Let this challenge be a part of your new year’s resolution to scrapbook more, get those photos off your phone or digital camera and to put the final finishing touch on whatever album you’re piecing together for yourself or as a gift!

To kickstart this goal, today we have the first Completed Album Challenge of the year going on in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group! If you completed an album this month (does not need to be from start to finish in January, just completed in January), make a short video flipping through each of the pages in your newly completed album. Then, post your video in the Virtual Crop Facebook Group with the hashtag #CompletedJan2023 for the chance to win!

NOTE: For this January challenge, you can share ANY album(s) that you finished in January 2023 AND any album(s) you completed throughout 2022 — even ones you already posted! Why? Because it’s fun to start the year off strong and see everything that we accomplished together last year! From February on out, you’ll want to show a newly completed album that you finished during the month to be eligible to win.

And to add to this crop-tastic challenge, take on this Creative Memories-themed scrapbook layout that features the latest (and supremely scrappy) Scrap Happy 2 collection!

Here’s an example of what your Completed Album Challenge video could look like!

Layout by Krislyn Mattei — CM Independent Advisor

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a piece of CM blue woven zigzag paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Lay the Jumbo Circle Custom Cutting System Pattern on a sheet of scrapbook sayings paper placed on the 13×13 Custom Cutting System Mat (see photo for placement). Cut a half circle, first with the Blue Blade on the inside track of the pattern, then, without moving the pattern, with the Red Blade. Still without moving the pattern, cut a half circle with the Red Blade on the outside track of the pattern. Turn the larger pieces upside down on the 13×13 Custom Cutting System Mat (discarding the narrow middle strip) and align. Tape in place using washi tape. Apply Repositionable Tape Runner adhesive along the middle edges. Cut 1″ x 1/2″ pieces of several various paper scraps. Adhere them along the middle as shown. Adhere the half-circle on the left-half of the layout.

Step 3: Adhere three 6″ x 4″ variety mats along the right side of the layout, about 1/4″ from the edge. Crop two photos to 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and adhere on the top and bottom mats. Mat a 4” x 6” photo with a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ mat and adhere to the middle of the layout.

Step 4: Cut and adhere stickers and embellishments, popping some up with Foam Squares for added dimension.

Step 5: Journal as desired.

Who is ready to tackle the first Completed Album Challenge of the year? Has this Creative Memories-themed scrapbook layout inspired you to show off your love of all things scrapbooking, crops, expos, Croptoberfest and National Scrapbook Day events and more?!
