Play Around With This Summer Scrapbook Layout

The official start of summer is here for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. So, soak up the extra daylight today and when you’re ready to record your memories made enjoying the sunshine, use this summer scrapbook layout, which features a cool kite design!

To create this layout you will need:

Step 1: Use a sheet of dots paper as the base for this layout.

Step 2: Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut a 12? x 1-3/4? strip with kites paper and adhere on the top of the layout. Cut a 12? x 1? strip with gingham paper and adhere on the bottom of the layout. Cut two 12? x 3/4? strips with ice cream cone paper. Adhere one below the kites strip and one above the gingham strip. Adhere a popsicle border sticker as shown.

Step 3: Using scrap paper, a ruler and pencil, draw a kite shape measuring approximately 5-1/2? x 6-1/2?. Cut the shape out using scissors and trace the design again on more scrap paper and cut out the second shape. With a ruler and pencil, draw lines on one of the kite shapes and cut the pieces out to make patterns. Trace the pattern pieces onto various paper scraps. Cut them out, apply Repositionable Tape Runner and adhere on the second kite shape. Trim the edges as necessary. Adhere the kite on the layout.

Step 4: Using the Personal Trimmer, crop one photo to 3-3/4? x 5-3/4? and two photos to 3? x 3?. Cut photos mats with Baby Blue Solid Cardstock: one 4” x 6” and two 3-1/4” x 3-1/4”. Mount the photos on the mats. Cut a 4-1/2? x 6-1/2? mat with cool tonal colorblock paper and mount the larger matted photo on top. Adhere all photos on the layout as shown.

Step 5: Adhere stickers, popping some up with Foam Squares for dimension.

Step 6: Journal as desired.
