The Official Guide To Creative Memories Pages

“Trust-worthy.” “Safe and reliable.” “Best in the industry”… those are just a few reviews our five-star-rated Creative Memories pages have earned in the 35+ years they’ve been protecting memories. And all scrapbook pages are NOT created equal!

If you’re getting started with scrapbooking or are new to Creative Memories, you might be curious about the types of pages we offer to put in your album. (If you’d like to start by learning about our album options, read this post.) This handy guide will break page info into bite-size pieces so you’re aware of your choices and prepped to pick the perfect one(s) for YOU.

The photos in these albums are all 30+ years old. The difference?

The scrapbook pages they’re preserved on.

Creative Memories pages are acid-free and lignin-free to stop them from turning yellow and brittle over time — that means your photos will stay safe on OUR pages and won’t turn out like those shown on non-CM pages below.

  • Our pages only work within the Creative Memories album system.
  • Our pages are sold separately from album covers, so if you’ve purchased an album cover, you’ll want to make sure to order your pack(s) of pages as well and you’ll need to insert them into your album. The exception is Fast2Fab (predesigned) albums, which come with predesigned pages already assembled inside the album.
  • Creative Memories scrapbook pages are available in three sizes: 12×12 (most popular), 8×8 and 6.75×10.
  • All of our paper products are acid-free and lignin-free to stop them from turning yellow and brittle with time!
  • And importantly, our pages are photo-safe.

The Cornerstone: Traditional Refill Pages

Watch the Introduction to 12×12 Pages and Introduction to 8×8 Pages videos to learn more.

  • Classic style:
    • Our Refill Pages are five-star rated and the most popular style of pages to do “traditional” scrapbooking.
    • These pages have durable protective edging on two sides of the page to make it easier to turn the pages, to properly space your pages and to ensure you can enjoy flipping through your album for years to come. The added weight of the page from the protective edging is a perk for many.
    • The stitches (clips) on the interior of the pages are exclusive to working with Creative Memories albums in the compatible page/album size.
    • The Page Protectors (included) slide over the page to protect your layouts and photos from spills, fingerprints and dust.
  • Blank canvas to create:
    • These are your blank-slate essentials, available in various sizes (most popular being 12×12) and colors to match your preferences.
      • 12×12 and 8×8 pages are available in all colors: White, Black, Spargo, Natural
      • 6.75×10 pages are available in White
    • You can add photos and stickers directly to the pages and journal (see image 1 below) or you can decorate the pages with mats, designer papers and other decorative products (see image 2).

    • Available in Fast2Fab options (aka predesigned pages — you’ll learn more below).

Considerations: If you’re someone who prefers to scrapbook in a multi-pocket style album, traditional Refill Pages will not provide that aesthetic and you may wish to use Pocket Pages instead.

Perfect for: The DIY-er who craves endless possibilities. If you like to design on a blank canvas without limitations, our Traditional Refill Pages are your perfect match, allowing you to showcase more of your favorite photos and let your storytelling style shine.

Curious about how to add pages to your album? Watch the video below.

Note: We recommend no more than two inches of pages in an album to keep its shape and strength. View the full recommended page guidelines here.

Pre-designed Inspiration: Fast2Fab Refill Pages

  • Fast way to create a beautiful album:
    • Unlike blank pages, these pages have a base design so it’s quick and easy to assemble a complete album with 75+ photos in just a few hours!
  • Creative flexibility:
    • You can use the pages as-is and adhere photos to the pages and journal OR you can choose to add mats and other decorative products for a more traditional feel.
    • You can move the pages around so the designs you want are in the order you’d like to use them with your photos.
    • These pages are wonderful for beginners to have a head start on layouts and inspiration for anyone who is opting for fewer supplies (as this will take out a bit of the material required to build a full-page design).

Considerations: Someone who prefers to scrapbook from a blank canvas or who prefers the multi-pocket style album would be better suited for traditional Refill Pages or Pocket Pages.

Perfect for: Anyone who likes to have a stylish foundation for pages that allows you to save time and/or reduces the amount of additional scrapbooking supplies, anyone who wants to complete an album quickly, anyone who may want to gift a completed album to someone.

For the Non-Chronological Scrapper: Top-Loading Pocket Pages

  • Flexibility:
    • You can easily move the Pocket Pages around in your album, as opposed to scrapping directly on a traditional Refill Page.
    • You can swap out layouts within your album and/or temporarily remove them!
  • Preserves Precious Keepsakes: Protects valuable pages and memorabilia with a quick slide-down action.
  • Double the Storage: Each pocket can hold two pages back to back!

See an Introduction to Top-Loading Pages here!

Considerations: If you’re a stickler for chronological order and your album is more of a set timeline, these pages may not fit what you are after.

Perfect for: The free-spirited scrapbooker who wants to mix things up. These pages are still a blank canvas, but they let you rearrange your memories whenever the mood strikes. Simply slide your layouts in and out of the pockets and watch your album evolve — it’s like having endless possibilities between two covers.

Love the idea of the pocket page but you’re hooked on the 8×8 album size? Our 8×8 Side-Loading Pocket Pages have you covered! Simply load your layout in from the side! Remember, 8×8 pages typically hold two 4×6 photos on a layout.

Want to see the 8×8 Side-Loading Page in action? Check out An Introduction to 8×8 Pages here to see the comparison of Traditional 8×8 Pages and Side-Loading Pages and catch the 8×8 Paper Albums video, which walks through how to trim your paper album and add it into Side-Loading Pages!

The Pocketful of Potential: Multi-Pocket Pages (12×12)

Multi-Pocket Pages offer five double-sided 4×6/6×4 pockets housed on one 12×12 page for a more traditional photobook layout look. They work as standalone pages or are great to add to mix up your albums for interest.

  • Time and Material Saving Designs: The pre-designed elements save you valuable crafting time.
  • Cohesive Aesthetic: The coordinated patterns ensure a polished and put-together look.
  • User-Friendly: Its layout is easy for anyone to understand and allows you to get photos in an album quickly.

Considerations: If you like to design pages from cover to cover and prefer to let your creativity flow without any predetermined pockets dictating your designs, these pages might not be for you. They’re perfect for quick, easy pages, but if you’re looking to craft intricate designs or stick to one photo orientation, you might want to explore other page styles.

Perfect for: The no-fuss scrapbooker seeking a traditional photobook look. If you’re all about quick and easy layouts, then these pages are your new best friend. They’re designed for the scrapbooker who loves mixing it up with a variety of photos, both vertical and horizontal. They’re the perfect solution for capturing life’s moments without the stress of a full-blown design project.

Like the look of the traditional photobook design but opt for a vertical album? The 6.75×10 Horizontal Pocket Pages are a great option to fit two double-sided 4×6 photos and have a space for a caption or decorative papers in between! Check out the 6.75×10 Pages video to see how it compares to the 6.75×10 Refill Page and fits in an album.

For the Digital Creative: Custom Scrapbooking Pages

See more of this Custom Album in this video!

  • Quality You Trust:
    • Custom Covers and Spines are printed on CM’s signature bookcloth.
    • Custom Pages are printed on CM’s signature Refill Pages.
  • Complete Creative Control: Create a truly unique and personalized scrapbook that no one else will have.
  • Print Multiple Copies: If you have an album you’d like to give to multiple people (e.g., a wedding album for both the bride and groom’s parents), you can design it once and gift it twice!

Considerations: Custom Products are only offered in the 12×12 size, so if you are building an 8×8 book, you will want to opt for an 8×8 Custom Paper Album (find out what a Paper Album is here) and add them using 8×8 Side-Loading Pocket Pages. Custom Products also require some technical understanding and computer and internet access with your photos available digitally.

  1. Have been looking for a new system and this just might be it. New to CM and I love the products very much.

    • You will love Creative Memories! I got hooked 30 years ago. Yes, it can be a tad spendy however, you are preserving memories that will last for a very long time! Have fun with this. Let me know if you need anything. If I can’t answer it, I will find someone who can.

  2. Have always loved CM products. I used to be a consultant many years ago. Still use the products.

    • Debbie,
You should consider returning. CM is very different from old Co. No inventory every month, a yearly fee of only $49, the first time you sign up you receive bonuses that exceed $49.

  3. I answered a question on survey that was marked wrong but the answer I gave was correct. You cannot put 4 4 x 6 photos on an 8 c 8 album page. It plainly says in article that you can only put 2 photos on the 8 x 8 pages. Please review my answers. Thank you.

    • Gayle, I agree the wording of the question could be a little clearer. I was thinking of a two page spread and I answered all 5 pages, but the 8×8 and the Happy Album were wrong.
      Yours is the correct answer.
      Janet

  4. I can’t seem to access the quiz. When I click on the “Take the Quiz Now!” button, it brings me to a photo of the album cover, but there are no quiz questions.

  5. I love Creative Memories!? I got hooked 25 years ago. You are preserving memories that will last for a very long time!

  6. I have been using Creative Memories products for over 16 years. I trust no other method of preserving all of my photos. They are amazing products. There is so much you can do to fancy up your photos and Creative Memories offers many ideas to help you in their catalogues and on their blogs. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in scrapbooking. Scrapbooking is a very relaxing and enjoyable way to use your spare time.

  7. Love CM products
My favorite item were the top loading sleeves as it solved the issue of keeping the open edge from getting wrinkled when family were viewing the pages. I’m not pleased that the new ones are side load style
Since my albums are keep in a special closet. Dust has not been an issue. The tools have all been first rate. I’m finally wearing out the original corner rounder and will need a new one. The border maker system is super. Thanks for great products!
