I’m so excited about CM’s new Grass Border Maker Cartridge! I’m mean seriously, what could be more fun for your summertime scrapbook pages than a grassy border, right? I can also think of several ways, other than grass, to use the Grass Border Maker Cartridge for outdoor themed scrapbook layouts. For today’s blog post, though, we’ll stick with what this cool border maker cartridge was created for. Today I’m going to share a few borders I created using the Cool Serenity Collection and the Grass Border Maker Cartridge.
Here’s what you’ll need to create these borders:
- Cool Serenity Paper Pack
- Travel Solid 12 x 12 Cardstock
- Cool Serenity Embellishments
- Cool Serenity Stickers
- Fresh Picks Embellishments
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- Border Maker System and Grass Border Maker Cartridge
- Custom Cutting System and Oval Patterns
- Brown Dual-tip pen
- Tape Runner and Foam Squares
Escape Border
Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut one 1 1/2″ x 12″ strip and one 1 1/4″ x 12 ” strip from dark teal pattern paper. Cut one 1″ x 12″ strip from sand pattern paper. Reverse the 1 1/4″ x 12″ strip then layer and adhere all 3 strips as shown. Use brown dual-tip pen to create faux stitching on edges of sand pattern paper. With the large oval CCS pattern as #1 and the smallest as #4, use the #3 pattern and red blade to cut an oval from sand pattern paper. Use the green blade to cut another oval from dark teal pattern paper. Layer and adhere as shown. Use brown dual-tip pen to create faux stitching around the edge of the top oval. Adhere oval to border strip. Using the Grass Border Maker Cartridge, punch a 2 1/4″ long border from dark green pattern paper. Trim to 3/4″ wide and adhere to oval with the Palm Tree embellishment as shown. Use foam squares to adhere “escape” sticker.
Paradise Border
Using the Grass Border Maker Cartridge, punch one border from light green pattern paper and one from dark green pattern paper. Trim each to measure 1″ x 12 inches. Layer and adhere as shown. Trim dark green border at end to fit. Tear one end of sand cardstock. Using the 12-inch Trimmer, trim to measure 1 1/2″ x 12 inches. Layer and adhere sand strip, grass strip, leaf embellishments and Fresh Picks flowers as shown. Use foam squares to adhere “paradise” embellishment shown. Adhere bling to flower center.
Relaxation Border
Using the 12-inch Trimmer, cut one 1 1/2″ x 12″ strip, one 2 1/4″ square, and one 2″ square from blue pattern paper. Use the Grass Border Maker Cartridge to punch a grass border from light teal pattern paper and trim to 3/4″ wide. Layer and adhere 12″ strip, bamboo fence sticker border and grass border as shown. Layer and adhere squares and adhere to border strip as shown. Use foam squares to adhere “relaxation” embellishment and sticker shown.
There you go – some quick and easy borders for your outdoor scrapbook layouts!
