Happy Saturday! We are so glad that you are able to join us for the Fall 2017 Virtual Crop!
The skies are gray here in Central Minnesota, and we are supposed to have a fall-like day here! The air is crisp and the leaves are changing (some are even falling already). What a great day to open the window, take in the fresh air, and scrap the day away.
Got your coffee? (….and M&M’s?) I can’t scrap without those 2 basics. What about you? What is your go-to scrapping snack?
Did you get a chance to join us last night to create a couple of projects?
Let’s not waste any time, and get things rolling right away.
Challenge 4: Create a layout following the sketch below. Take a photo of your completed project and post it to the Facebook Event Page by 11am CST today (Saturday the 16th) to qualify for the prize for this challenge.

Tips for creating this digital layout:
- The rich palette of colours in the Croptoberfest kit is perfect for nature photos.
- I have added some dimension to the gold heart by using a 3D filter and softened the edge so the heart now has a puffy look.
- The title bar has a 3D edge by using the same filter as for the heart, but the edge was not softened on this one. The edge was left sharp to show angles.
- In digital scrapbooking resizing is a huge advantage. I have resized many of the flowers and leaves to fit where I wanted to add them to the page.
- The vine was resized, repeated and the colour was changed to a darker colour to help it stand out against the darker papers.

I haven’t done Creative Memories in so long, I currently have my kids photos on my cell phone. Last time I did CM—we took the film to the drug store and had the pictures developed. How do you guys do it know?
I personally upload my cell phone and my Nikon to Historian at the same time so they are all in the same place and then upload to Costco to have them printed. My Oldest in college uses shutterfly app on her phone which allows her to send them straight from her phone to be printed. In a pinch if we need the photos within the hour we use the walgreens app and then pick them up at our local walgreens.
I didn’t know you could do that, thank you
I get my photos printed at Walgreens. I just upload them from my computer to their site and then just pick them up later.
I LOVE the “marshmallow” tweak in shape! I love the colors and print contrasts! Thank you for opening my mind on how to tweak the recipe into my own!
Great challenge and great examples!
I am so happy to see the layout box return!! It is the key to my getting pages done! I could layout everything in one session, which helped me cull excess photos. Then, when I had a short amount of time to scrapbook, all I needed were the basics–adhesives, pens, tools for trimming, if I change my mind. The rest was all together where I didn’t have to struggle to remember what I was doing.
