In today’s increasingly electronic and screen-centric world, fun times spent outdoors are becoming more valuable than ever before. Many people like to spend their free time doing things such as grilling, camping, tailgating or even just hanging out in the great outdoors. The Fanatic collection is meant to celebrate sports AND all these special moments spent outdoors, and the multitude of themes and papers make it versatile enough to work for whatever your hobby is. Today we’ve got a fun layout to help you commemorate these moments and is the backdrop you need to bring all of your outdoor scrapbook ideas to life… let’s take a look!
To create this layout, you will need:
- Fanatic Paper Pack
- Fanatic Embellishments
- 12-inch Straight Trimmer
- Tape Runner with Repositionable Tape Runner Refill
- Foam Squares
- Black Dual-Tip Pen
Step 1: Use the wood patterned paper as the base for this layout.
Step 2: Cut eleven strips of various patterns of paper to measure 1″ in height. You will want to cut the strips to be varying widths, ranging from 2-3/4″ up to 6″. Adhere these pieces using Repositionable Adhesive to the left-hand side of the layout.
Step 3: For the photo mats, cut two pieces to measure 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″, one piece to measure 6″ x 3-1/2″ and one piece to measure 5″ x 4-1/4″. Photo sizes will be (2) 3″ x 3″, (1) 5-1/2″ x 3″ and (1) 4-1/2″ x 3-3/4″. Adhere the photos to the mats and then to the layout as shown.
Step 4: Use a Black Dual-Tip Pen to journal on one of the strips.
Step 5: Adhere embellishments and enamel stickers using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

Love all the strips down the side of the page! It’s a great way to use the paper.
Yes it would be a great scrap layout!
Very cute layout and pictures….
I like some of the elements but it is a bit too busy for me.
Cute layouts but too busy with so many different paper patterns. Distracts from photos.
Great layout, love it!
I agree with you Linda, it would have been a lot better if the background and the photos were on plain colour card stock. As in most other layouts they aren’t very good adds for the paper packs – the designs of the paper are very hard to see.
Great ideas! You could definitely use some of the same papers or some cardstock as the base.

You know what is great about scrapbooking?? It’s creative and expressive. Actually nobody needs to be a critic of anyone’s scrapbooking project as far as I am concerned. I have heard people stop scrapbooking because of that. People we have got to start lifting people up instead of beating them down!! End of rant!! Thanks for sharing this fabulous scrapbook layout!!
