Tackle Your 2019 Goals with These Happy Album Planner Tips

Normally, I would already feel like I’m falling behind on my New Year’s goals, but this year I’m proud to say I’m more motivated and organized than ever! (Spoiler: It’s not because I drink five cups of coffee a day.) Keep reading to find out how I use my Happy Album and Planner Kit to organize my busy life (seriously, this is an accomplishment), stay on top of my 2019 goals and have fun throughout the process!

So you started the year off strong, motivated and ready to tackle your goals… well, it’s almost a month in and you’re starting to feel overwhelmed. This is how I typically feel by the end of January! Not this year – this year I made the commitment to stay organized so I can spend less time stressing. Finding the right planner, creating a system, taking my planner on the go, reflecting and setting goals ahead of time have been a game changer. If you need help in this area, grab your planner (and a cup of coffee, obviously) and let’s set some goals for 2019!

I found that it’s important to find a planner that is a reflection of your personal style. Find a planner that excites you and makes you want to write in it! Make sure your planner has everything you need to stay on track – like calendar pages and areas to take notes. I use the Cashmere Blue Fast2Fab™ Happy Album with the Planner Kit. I love the Planner Kit because it’s blank so you can start your year at any month! All I did was assemble my monthly calendar pages and add in additional White Refill Pages for journaling and adding photos.

It’s easy for your calendar to look overwhelming! I’ve realized that I feel more on top of my busy schedule when my planner is neat. But, maybe you like messy!

  • I use the stickers from the Planner Kit to code different events and reminders throughout my month.
  • I also designate an area in each calendar box for different types of activities – I put my most exciting events at the top in bold (like my next road trip) and my less exciting to-do’s (like going to the dentist) at the bottom.
  • I write reminders, to-do’s and goals I want to achieve in the notes section of the page.
  • I always feel much more organized and ready to take on each week when everything is written in my planner ahead of time!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made plans or set up an appointment when I’m out and about and (surprise) I can’t remember later! Well, this is a simple step in staying organized but it has made a huge difference for me. I take my Happy Album with me everyyywhere. I mean everywhere. Going to the grocery store? My shopping list is in my planner. Going to the salon? My Happy Album is with me to write down my next appointment. Having a girls’ night? I take my Happy Album with me to journal about the fun time we had. Give this a try and let me know if it makes a difference for you!

At the end of the month It’s important to take time to reflect on your happiest moments and everything you have achieved. I like to print photos of my favorite memories, write about my progress and what went well that month. (Spoiler: You will see how I did this in the next blog post!) You won’t regret looking back at all the fun you had throughout the year! This is also a great time to see if you’ve been on track to reach your goals for 2019. Give yourself a pat on the back for staying committed!

I love to sit down at the end of each month and look at what worked and what didn’t, the progress of my goals, and challenge myself to improve for the following month. Don’t be afraid to take the goals you set for the year and add on to them or create new ones. You may find that certain goals don’t make sense anymore (like giving up pizza), and other achievements take a bigger priority in your life. If you haven’t made the progress you were hoping for, that’s okay! Carry that goal over to next month and try again. Doing this has really helped me to be self-aware and make the changes I need to be the best version of myself!
