Tell Your 2020 Story With This COVID-19 Scrapbook Layout

2020 has been an interesting year for many people around the world… to say the least. But one major significance (and reality!) of scrapbooking is documenting any and all memories, good times and maybe not so great times. No matter how you’re feeling about 2020, the Love Each Other 2 Theme Pack is here to help boost positivity and hope! Blog contributor Melissa Ullmann recently created a COVID-19 scrapbook layout that commemorates this “new normal” of the times — check it out!

Melissa’s Inspiration

I wanted to document how COVID-19 has impacted my life directly, and how we are dealing with it. I didn’t want to create massive numbers of layouts about it, but I am making sure to have a handful of layouts to record history!

To create this layout you will need:

Take a closer took at everything included in the Love Each Other 2 Theme Pack in the video below!

Step 1: Use the Goldenrod Cardstock as the base for the layout.

Step 2: Cut three pieces from the green waves patterned paper to measure 4-1/2″ x 10″, 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and 7″ x 4-1/2″. Use the 2-Way Corner Rounder to round the corners that are on the inside of the layout.

Step 3: Cut three pieces of the dots patterned paper to measure: 1/2″ x 10-1/2″, 1/2″ x 4″, 7-1/2″ x 1/2″. Adhere these along the outer edges of the green papers.

Step 4: Cut the gridded blocks patterned paper into 3″ x 3″ squares as they are designed. Adhere to the layout.

Step 5: Cut three photos to measure 3″ x 3″. Adhere to the layout.

Step 6: Cut five pieces from the light blue grid patterned paper to measure 3-3/4″ x 1/2″, 2-1/2″ x 7-1/4″, 4″ x 1-1/2″, 4″ x 1-3/4″, and 3-1/2″ x 1″. Use the 2-Way Corner Rounder on the inside corners.

Step 7: Adhere stickers, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension. Journal as desired.

  1. I am like Dianna, I just don’t know where to start. I do want to scrap it, because it has been a VERY LARGE part of my life this year. Thanks for your example, Melissa. I would be very interested to see more of your layouts dealing with this subject.

  2. I’ve already filled the first Covid album and began working on the second one. We got out of the house and explored our neighborhood, city and state. There were lots of great memories and things we would never have done if not for Covid.

  3. It’s not only the Medical community involved with Covid19. Have y’all thought about designing a Theme Pack for ALL first responders: Dispatchers, Police, Fire, EMS??? I have many friends that are first responders and I have to purchase embellishments to include in my scrapbooking and cards. A few of these friends have even been in contact with Covid19 patients.

  4. Documenting History . What a great way of describing “scrapbooking” . Thank you for sharing !
